5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great, looks great. Does have closed caption, 3 different type in fact. Good for running off solar since it only uses 23 watts. I think I got a decent NewEgg deal on it, I'm happy.

Cons: no complains really. The only improvement I can think of is it could use a little more volume on the sound. I'll probably find some computer speakers to plug in to it eventually.

2 out of 5 eggsCheap and plays

Pros: Screen seems OK. Low cost

Cons: Audio quality is none. Not a lot volume either on some channels. Need default password to use all menu functions. Finally all zeroes worked. Main power switch is a rocker type on bottom of TV. Manual reads side. No buttons on side. Most are on the top including an on/off. No batteries for remote. Just usual phono plug cable provided.

5 out of 5 eggsGiven as gift

Pros: Bright, crisp image. I got mine on sale and saved $70+ compared to simular TVs.

Cons: Brand I never heard of, but who cares!

Other Thoughts: Being used as PC minitor primarily. It was a gift, and the guy I got it for raves about it!

3 out of 5 eggsNice Purchase

Pros: *Picture Quality
*Ease of Use

After a little fiasco turning it on for the first time, the picture was quite surprising. We had an animated movie playing on a Blu Ray player via HDMI, and it was very clear. It is a simple TV, and does as advertised.

Cons: *Extra Power Switch
*12 second Turn on
*User Manual

There is an extra little power switch on the bottom of the TV. It took me 5 minutes to realize this was NOT the power switch! Part of the confusion was that I would hit the other power button on top, and nothing would happen. So, I thought I got a dud. However, If you wait about 12 seconds, the TV will finally come on!

Also, although this did not come in to affect for me, I would assume their customer service is pretty poor. I only say that because throughout my manual, there are white-out spots, with handwritten numbers in place of the printed ones! I thought I was crazy, but it's definitely white out, with handwritten stuff over the whiteout. Obviously, somebody at their warehouse had to go in and manually change something inside of their user manual. That just screams quality!

Other Thoughts: The white-out in the user manual scared me, but the overall quality of the TV has been very high. The HDMI input works great, and the picture is nice. I only hesitate to recommend this product because I question rather or not the company will even be in business for another year.

4 out of 5 eggsBeautiful 1080-only for $139 but mishmash at heart

Pros: Inexpensive, brings in many over-the-air channels with simple HD antenna, deep colors, great side to side viewing angles. At a comfortable distance (and warm color setting on mine), a 1080i channel is beautiful with sufficiently saturated colors and good contrast. I moved Sharpness all the way up. The speakers emit downward which is much better than backward when you have neighbors. While raising bass has little effect on the built-ins, medium-low bands on the equalizer do.

Cons: The 1080i over-the-air picture is not digitally rendered pixel by pixel. I started out with digital down-scaling projectors and HD CRTs and moved through various resolutions to full HD LCDs. This TV seems to be an assembly of old now inexpensive parts sewn together. The digital tuner output is clearly processed by mixing pixels, I guess in the chip that does the comb filtering. 480p channels, as they often are, are converted to 1080 instead of 960, which leaves them a colorful blur.
Basically, it does not show 1080i programs the way they show up on a full-digital LCD television

Other Thoughts: No free lunch. To get multiple inputs AND a real digital 1080 TV image, it seems we have to pay a considerably higher price. I can't test the HDMI input yet but I'm convinced it goes through the same path.
As a 1080 monitor through VGA, it has the usual Auto feature through the menu that sharpens well, better than the 1080 HD TV, but the look is a little soft for reading, but very good for any on-line 1080 movies.
Again, the 1080 is not pure through any input.

I'm usually a purist and I'm keeping this as a portable small-footprint do-it-all while I'm looking for a more permanent place to live. Don't want to watch the old movies on 480p channels though.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for Price

Pros: The best pro on this TV is the cost. Picture seems fine to me though I'm not an expert on that.

Cons: The screen on mine has a missing pixel that shows red on dark images. Not really noticeable most of the time.
The sound is pretty poor. I had to hook up external speakers to make it loud enough.

Other Thoughts: I've been happy with it overall. The sound was the biggest disappointment but the external speakers helped that.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good price. Using TV in our RV. Great upgrade from a 2001 TV. Quality of picture very good. Would purchase this TV again.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Thought it didn't work, while putting back in box found on/off button on bottom of TV.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Absolutely none.

Cons: Ordered 2 to use as monitors for computer. NEITHER MONITOR WORKED AT ALL!! I couldn't even turn either monitor on. I tried the remote - I tried turning them on by the button on the monitor - I tried different plugs. Nothing. One box appeared to have previously been opened and returned, so CLEARLY these monitors DO NOT WORK. DO NOT ORDER!!!
