We also cook oatmeal, fish, shrimp and even some chicken dishes. If you are looking into getting a rice cooker just to see if it works for you then this is a great place to start. Cons: None really. It's inexpensive Cons: The lid does not lock down, and is not very heavy. As a result, once the water starts boiling, the steam pushes up on the lid, causing it to shake. Steam condenses then splatter anything within a foot of the device.
