Description: This 9,000btu, 3-in-1 system provides multi-season comfort. Designed to efficiently cool and dehumidify any space without permanent installation. Effectively improves air circulation in poorly ventilated spaces. Dual hose systems provide fast cooling. With one hose for air intake and the other for air exhaust, there is no negative pressure created inside the room.

Self-Evaporating Technology - during the cooling process, water is extracted from the air into the unit. Most of this water is recycled and used to cool the cooling coils. This creates improved cooling efficiently without adding energy cost. The moisture is then pushed out with the exhaust air, leaving you a virtually no-drain unit. In extreme humid conditions, if condensation collects faster than the unit can evaporate, the excess water will collect in the built-in tank. When the tank becomes full, compressor will automatically shut-off and unit will indicate that drainage is needed.

Chill In Portand 5/12/2012 9:08:34 PM Tech Level: 3/5 Ownership: 2/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 3/5Fair Weather Air Conditioner Pros: - Worked out of the box - Very quiet - Inexpensive - Outside air intake (sort of) - Broken window adapter replaced under warranty at no cost and little effort Cons: This item is poorly designed. The manual states that the outside air intake must be detached when the outside temperature exceeds 95 degrees F. to prevent the compressor from overheating (this isn't easily done). Also, the unit mixes room air with the air sucked in from outside. Naturally, this largely defeats the advantage of a dual hose system. Also, the hoses are mounted right behind the cooling coils, which probably disrupts air flow through them. Finally, the parts themselves seem sort of flimsy (particularly the tabs that lock the air hoses to AC). Other Thoughts: I haven't had really hot weather to stress test this unit, but so far it looks like it will do the job. I'm a little disappointed that the thermostat only goes down to 64 degrees, but I suppose that will do. It's also worth being aware that the fan seems to run constantly even when the compressor isn't on. Also, this unit comes with casters. You could unscrew them, but there are bolts sticking out past the bottom of the unit. Finally, the air conditioner arrived quite filthy. I'm not sure if that was the result of a dirty manufacturing environment, or if I got an open box item. It's quiet, the air is cold, it's easy to operate, what more could you want? I do like the remote. Cons: None yet. Other Thoughts: The first one arrived damaged but Newegg replaced it quickly and paid the shipping. When I talked to Newegg, I was the only one that had received a damaged unit in the past 6 months so I felt reasonably sure the second one would be ok. It was. I cool just my bedroom in the 90+ degree days, about 160 sq ft. It would do more, probably 200 or so.
