Learn more about Induction Cooker

Induction Cooker

Micro-Induction Cooktop provides the best in cooktop performance, safety and efficiency. Induction heats as electricity flows through a coil to produce a magnetic field under the ceramic plate. When a ferromagnetic cookware is placed on the ceramic surface, currents are induced in the cookware and instant heat is generated due to the resistance of the pan. Heat is generated to the pan only and no heat is lost. As there are no open flames, inductions are safer to use than conventional burners. Once cookware is removed, all molecular activity ceases and heating is stopped immediately.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Inexpensive Induction Cooker

Pros: Very reasonably priced induction cooker. It is straightforward to use and works well. It seems to boil water as fast as on my glasstop electric range, maybe a bit faster. It is easy to clean. Comes with a kind of goofy "Mr. Induction" nameplate, which I like.

Cons: The cooling fan on this unit is pretty loud, and there is some electromagnetic hum that accompanies operation. It's not obnoxious, just different from cooking on a traditional "silent" range.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to try induction cooking without having to buy a super-expensive unit. This was an ideal way to do so. It was about $48 on sale when I bought it. (That's much better than the days of $500+ induction ranges.)

5 out of 5 eggsGood Value when on sale.

Pros: Well Constructed. 6 heat settings allow you to cook quickly and then keep food warm. Digital push button controls. Energy efficent. Pick up pot or pan and unit automatically shuts off. Place back on induction element and unit continues as programmed.

Cons: Controls a bit flukey. Tamper with certain controls while cooking and unit will automatically shut off. This appears to be a safety feature,, I think.

Other Thoughts: Unit rated at 1300 Watts but the most I could get unit to consume was 900 Watts drawing approx. 9 amps of current at 118 Volts AC. This could be a plus for apartment dwellers or campers who don't want to trip circut breakers or blow out fuses. Still unit cooks at about the same speed as Natural Gas Stove.

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE IT!

Pros: have the Higher cost far more expensive brand
that works great and permits total & instant,
accurate and very specific control of heat.
THIS brand is far prettier - it's black surface looks magical.
Had more interesting controls as well - I ran it through its paces and it is a GIFT for a family member,
It is! :-)

Cons: slightly less watts then the top most expensive model,
which is mostly irrelevant - has other additional benefits.

Other Thoughts: VERY nice looking
- seems as sturdy as the better known more expensive brand
