4 out of 5 eggsWarm enough for a desk/small room

Pros: -It's a beast. I dropped it down the stairs and the top plastic broke open, but it still runs very well. The airflow never changed after the fall
-It heats up my bedroom well enough in the winter, and would keep our very small basement room (7ftx14ft) warm. It would heat up the room in a couple hours and maintain the temperature all night.
-It is quiet, not much louder than a regular fan.

Cons: It's small, and not very powerful. It won't heat up a big room, but it will heat up a small one or keep your feet warm under your desk.

Other Thoughts: Would buy again if I needed to. I ran it non-stop during the summertime for the fan, it ran 24/7 for at least 2 months. It ran for a week straight once during the winter too and the unit never got too hot or shut off.

3 out of 5 eggsCheap, effective, dangerous

Pros: It's cheap, it's small, for my bedroom it was perfect, in the summer it had a fan setting that could run almost non-stop to cool it down, in the winter it put out a ton of heat and never overheated because it regulates temperature and automatically shuts off every now and again. I remember taking it outside, run off an extension cord, into the shed to heat it since I had turned it into a shag den for the evening since I had a girl coming over. Was really fond of it for the entire time I had it.

Cons: For a few days it hasn't been working, I thought nothing of it, it's been comfortable enough. I look to see then that the prongs must have gotten so hot in the extension cord that they melted the rubber extension cord. I cannot separate the extension cord from the heater's cord. Space heaters trip our breakers a lot so I ran this one from another room's power so it was on a different breaker. I've never had any appliance melt an extension cord to the point of making it impossible to unplug or power that appliance.

Other Thoughts: I hold reservations about this being a faulty extension cord, I honestly don't know either way, but I'm disappointed nonetheless that there was, in case it was the extension cord, no warning saying not to have the heater plugged into an extension cord.

1 out of 5 eggsDEAD AFTER 1 YEAR

Pros: fairly similar to the other space space heater I've owned

Cons: Brought 12/29/2002, DIED 1/27/2014, it lasted about 4.5 months of use.

Other Thoughts: Never buying this brand again. I have several Holmes models that are still working after 5 years.

4 out of 5 eggsJust what I needed

Pros: Using it right now! This little heater puts out a lot of heat. Great for under the desk and keep my legs and feet toasty.

Cons: Really only two things.

Fan speed, there isn't any. You basically get one choice and that's on/off. There are two different heat settings (1 & 2) which obviously increases the heat between the two settings, but this doesn't effect the actual fan speed.

And that leads into my 2nd con which is noise. It's not too loud, but having that optional fan speed would allow me to tone it down a bit and help keep my work area a little quieter.

Other Thoughts: Otherwise this little heater does what its supposed too and it is hot!

1 out of 5 eggsDefected

Pros: Can't used.

Cons: Came with something broken inside, make a sound when I shake it, is like a defected returned previously, because of the damaged box, looks like someone smart cut a piece of the box to avoid to be sold, because is a defect, but someone ignored and send it to me, I'm send it back hope you don't get it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little heater.

Pros: Does what it says it is suppose to. Heats! Twenty five dollars seems like a good price for a heater.

Cons: Fan is loud.

5 out of 5 eggsmy feet are not cold anymore

Pros: nice little heater for under my desk at work.

Cons: newegg did not bother to pack this very well at all. they just slapped a mailing label on the heater's box and stuck it out for delivery. the box was not even taped shut and was pretty beat up on arrival and the top was nearly torn off. looked old and abused. the heater inside was ok though, so far... miracle.

Other Thoughts: maybe the days of newegg being the best in the biz is slipping. things seem to take much longer to arrive and are not packaged all that well anymore. and i can get better pricing at brick and mortar shops on many items.

4 out of 5 eggsYeah, Found A Great Little Heater

Pros: Small, compact, fan only and 2 heat settings. Fast heat. Most of all, it really works! Tested this DeLonghi DCH1030, which looks like a cousin to another heater that Newegg sells. The Delonghi passed all the tests. This little guy ran for hours without a problem. Did NOT over heat.

Cons: The only reason I did not give a 5 "egg" rating is because of not having a tip over safety switch. I will just have to be careful.

Other Thoughts: Just have DeLonghi add a safety switch.

5 out of 5 eggsHeat a whole room

Pros: Great little heaters do a thorough job of heating an average sized room in all but the coldest of weather, and I always used the lower of the two settings to save on electricity. I live in Connecticut, so it can get cold, and I rely mostly on one of these in four different rooms to cut down on oil consumption for heating. Can't be beat for the price.

Cons: Maybe more of a difference between the high and low settings. I don't see much of a difference, so I always keep them on low, since the heat output isn't much more on high.
