1 out of 5 eggsIt worked fine while it worked...

Pros: It is silent (no fan element) and produces nice heating waves. So overall, it could be an effective heater, but then it simply quit working...

Cons: Light and flimsy construction, absence of any display or sound feedback.

Other Thoughts: After 8 months it simply quit working, too a short a lifespan...

2 out of 5 eggsLow Heat

Pros: Essentially silent. I've had this heater for 3 northeastern winters and it is still working.

When the temperature outside is above 45, I can use this on the low setting. When the temperature is below, I have to use the high setting.

Cons: The back surface heats up pretty high; I definitely would not recommend mounting this against a wall. But no heat radiates out from the back, sides, or even the bottom of the heater.

My room is about 14x20. I sit about 8 inches away from this heater. Even after 8 hours, my left side gets nice and warm but my right side remains cold (I wear size 30 pants so it's not like I'm huge). When the temperature outside dipped to 20, my right hand was frozen. I can't sit anywhere else in the room because the heat doesn't travel far at all.

Other Thoughts: I would never buy a mica-panel heater again. They simply can't generate enough heat.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT RECOMMENDED

Pros: When I first purchased the heater last winter, I was impressed at how quiet it was and it did produce heat very well.

Cons: Price was a little high considering no electronic controls. It started to have some strange flashes happening at times and started a red glowing spot near the middle. It progressed to actually having what looked to be flames for a second, like when a gas ignites and burns out almost immediately. I questioned if this was safe at all, couldn't find a recall and the warranty had expired. I continued to use it in the basement very closely supervised with me in the immediate area, and it consistently had "flashes" every time it was turned on, with a glowing red spot. (My basement is unfinished at the moment with the heater in the middle of the room on a concrete floor). After the first month of this heating season, it died completely, controls work but it doesn't produce heat. I searched and found a lot of people experiencing this problem, I would stay away from it!

Other Thoughts: Obviously there haven't been any or have been few because of this heater or I am sure it would be recalled. I can't believe they are still selling it though, very poor design or quality control or something. I wouldn't purchase this heater again and I am unimpressed with DeLonghi for making such a product and not do anything about the problems, they're still selling it!

5 out of 5 eggsNice and Toasty

Pros: Keeps our bedroom nice and warm. Don't notice how well it is working until you leave the room and notice how cold the rest of the house is. Dog loves it. Two power levels and also has temperature settings.

Cons: Radiant heater, so takes some time to heat up the room. Temperature settings go from 0 to 6...

Other Thoughts: Nice heater. Replaced a space heater with a fan to warm up room quicker, but like this heater better as there is no noise.

3 out of 5 eggsOK but Not Practical for Wall Mtg

Pros: Puts out reasonable amount of heat considering that - like _all_ plug-in heaters - it's limited to 1500 watts max because of residential circuit capacity. Dead quiet in operation. Does not take up too much space and it's reasonably attractive. Have operated mine for three months now with no problems - can't tell what the long-term prospects are.

Cons: The back does get _very_ hot even on the low heat setting. Cannot be comfortably touched. As an engineer I would recommend that it never be mounted on a combustible wall.

Other Thoughts: The instruction sheet requires the lower edge of the unit to be 70 cm above the floor if wall-mounted. This is window-sill height. I thought it was a typo for 70 mm so I checked with DeLonghi and it turns out the 70 cm is correct. Keep that in mind if you intend to wall-mount. The heating would be very inefficient at such a height.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet and warm

Pros: Very quiet, thermostat makes a click, element makes a ticking sound for about 1 sec.
No fan creating drafts.
Dont notice when its on or off
has a nice radient effect, if you stand it front of it, getting dressed.

Cons: minor, have to sort out the thermostat setting yourself
back gets warm on the high setting, but the low setting is enough for me.
First time , very stinky, lucky read reviews and had it outside, left it wide open for about 1 hour. No smell now.
Trying to find a place to mount on wall

Other Thoughts: Have it a bedroom 12x15 have the forced air vent blocked door closed, set the heater on low, thermostat on 1 keeps the room about 60 degrees F, thats my perfect sleeping temp, outside temp got down to 10 degrees F at one point.

1 out of 5 eggsback is warmer than front

Pros: ?

Cons: back is warmer than front. Can't touch the back panel for more than 2 seconds but the front grill is fine. Returned the first one at my cost and the exchange has the same problem.
