Pros: For $150 and under 1) its the best looking 2) its compact 3) It worms up really fast (2 or 3 min) even though in the book it says wait 15 min 4) It makes very good express and capucino 5) easy to clean
Cons: 1) not too much space to fit taller cups 2) once a single shot of expresso/capucino is made the heater green light turns off and you have to wait about 30 sec or 1 min to make another shot, until the ok green light turns on 3) every two cups/shots you have to change/clean the filter/coffe
Of course for $99 you can't complain..if you want automatic cleaning you have to spend 5 times more
Other Thoughts: initially, my expresso/cappucino was really bad... so i went online, and to starbucks and asked how to make expresso the right way...
1) Unlike previous comments the beans have to be grounded as fine as possible 2) YOu have to youse special beans (expresso beans) apparently they are cooked diffrently or dried diffrently 3) One scoop of coffe, makes one expresso, but make sure you count 13 seconds of pouring for single shot of expresso (according to starbucks experts :) )

Not bad for entry level
Reviewed By: on 7/2/2009
Tech Level: average - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: 1. well built and easy to clean 2. good crema and steam from pump 3. warms up quickly 4. not too loud
Cons: 1. filter is too small for a good size latte 2. in essence all you are getting is a single shot 3. has room in handle for bigger filter ... an accessory perhaps? 4. built in tamp is awkward. pony up for a real one 5. steam value is too short to insert in std size stainless cup
Other Thoughts: Getting to know you machine is important. For each brew you need to bleed the steam valve. It shoots a fair bit of hot water that can ruin your froth. Once you bleed it, it works great. Took a couple of days to learn how to froth. Lots of advice out there. Keep the frothing head just under the surface until the temp gets to 120 or so (get a thermometer). At that point you'll be getting good froth (foam). Then insert to the bottom of you milk for the duration (till 150 of so) It ain't perfect, but it works. Use a burr grinder and don't over grind you beans. Don't over tamp either People have said the steam value head cross threads easily. Maybe, but if you are careful, you won't have to worry about it. Prewarm you cup, turn the switch and enjoy

Great Espresso Maker for the price
Reviewed By: TubesocK on 4/4/2009
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: I got this elsewhere but I figured i'd leave my 2 cents. Great machine, easy to use but buy a different tamper because the one built onto it is a bit impractical IMO anyway. Great crema after a few initial tries you'll pull a great shot every time. Frothing wand is very decent and creates nice steamed milk/foam. I've never owned a more expensive high-end unit, but I have owned cheaper steam-driven units and this is night-and-day comparatively to the burnt tasting sludge those units churned out AVOID THOSE LIKE THE PLAGUE!
Cons: Like the others said, there is not enough room to just toss a mug under to catch the espresso, not a whole lot else to complain about
Other Thoughts: Glad Newegg has this machine stocked so if anything happens to mine I nowhere to get another at a good price
Thanks Newegg!
