1 out of 5 eggsbad experiance all around

Pros: it has wheels, which is good for moving it room to room and it puts no pressure on old window frames (these are really pros for any portable a/c in this style although)

Cons: I bought A110 (essentially same they share a manual) in 2009. It arrive before leaving for a trip and not used a few wks. When I did open it the remote was broken and surprisingly a sticker's on back "factory recertified unit no returns allowed" I did I sign something when I bought it noting I acknowledge its freight and cant be returned, after calling and explaining-- there a problem taking it back also because of the time passed (although it had just been opened I should have checked it when it arrived) After speaking with newegg and manufacture I did get a new remote. After only 3 weeks use it had issues and had to be brought for repair. It was not used again for 2 yrs while I worked over seas. And after using it recently after 2 wks it spills water regulalry.

Other Thoughts: This power hungry garden hose is absolute junk. I have also been shopping on newegg about a decade and this is the first product that was negative enough for me to put a negative review down -- usually the fact it is carried here is enough to verify quality for me. I have bought (with awesome experiences) a ton of electronics and computer part since.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Machine

Pros: Reliably blows cold air when you need it to, has many time settings as to not blow at all times, has a remote for longer distance control, and have had no leaking problems.

I've had this unit for over 4 months now and have had no problems whatsoever and I imagine the problems everyone else is getting is from using the device just after it was shipped, this is a problem because it's not supposed to be shipped anyway but UPRIGHT. I imagine if you order this online they don't pay attention to that and most people probably just try to plug it in and hope it works without leaving it up right for a day before using.

Cons: **This could technically be a con, but is actually a very big pro for me** The unit is pretty loud, especially if your using for just one room. But for me(in a busy household with many other people) it helps drown out all other annoying noises in the house. It's not so loud that it would disturb you from watching tv or listening to music in that same room.

Like I said, could be a con if you're the type of person who likes to listen to every creep your house makes from one room, or could be a con.

Other Thoughts: Like I said most people don't read the directions and if you don't transport this unit yourself you need assume is was transported on its side and it NEEDS TO BE LEFT UPRIGHT FOR A DAY.

I imagine that is the sole reason for most of the complaints, and if people read directions more they'd know that...

1 out of 5 eggsDont buy!

Pros: Worked great for about 3 months!

Cons: After 3 months it leaked like crazy. Not worth fixing because this Companies ac designs are flawed and they know it. Almost ruined my wood floors! Total waste of 400 bucks.

2 out of 5 eggsWhen it works, it works. When it doesn't, IT LEAKS

Pros: It's powerful and portable, and it has absolutely no problems cooling a room. I've moved around a lot and this thing is a boon for apartment dwellers, as it can be moved to virtually any room with a window and can be stowed with relative ease when the season is over. It has wheels and I can lift it on my own, both are very important aspects for me since I tend to move once a year.
The various additional modes--fan only, dehumidify, auto, sleep--, combined with the digital LCD display, are really great and can make owning one feel like one of the smartest moves you've ever made. Mine came with a remote control, so I felt like a king.

Cons: It has a powerful fan but it's not obnoxious. It sounds like a powerful A/C. When it's boiling out, it's the sound of sweet relief.

Vents aren't adjustable. Whichever way the unit is facing is where the air blows. This may not be a con for you.

IT LEAKS. I'm going to paste the review that saved my life:

"Here's the problem (and a solution). There are two reservoirs in which water is stored, an upper and a lower. The lower reservoir has an auto-shutoff - if the water level gets too high the AC unit shuts off so it doesn't overflow. Water is supposed to trickle down from the upper reservoir to the lower. The upper reservoir has no auto-shutoff. Here's the problem - dust collects in the upper reservoir preventing water from moving to the lower reservoir. When this happens the water has no place to go so it causes the unit to leak onto the ground.---

Other Thoughts: ---Here's a solution to the problem that I found helps. Turn off the unit and unplug it. When facing the front of the unit remove the left side panel (there are about 6 screws that need to be removed and then the panel slides off). Inside the unit on the left side you will see a small white tray with a hole in the middle - this is the upper reservoir. Dust is collecting in that small hole. Using a hand vacuum and a drinking straw can remove a lot of the dirt. Tape the straw so the vac only sucks through the straw - like an vacuum attachment. Then just vacuum in the hole and hope that it gets most of the dust. You may need to do this every couple of weeks as dust builds."

I gave it 3 stars because it saved my summer. Minus 3 because of the trouble it has been. Do yourself a favor, research this product. If you can deal with the leak, or the possibility of one, I think it's great. Definitely not worth it to people who can afford something else.

5 out of 5 eggsDO BUY THIS ITEM IT DOES WORK

Pros: Blows air. Air cold. Cold good.
My apartment is around 650 sq feet, and it cools my entire apartment very well.

Cons: The slot that blocks the window is only about 38" or so, and my windows are taller than that. It's not really a problem for me to have a few square inches of open window but I guess some people might have a problem with that.
It's also kind of loud when the fan starts up and especially when it shuts down, like a thud. On the auto settings, this is every few minutes, and I don't think I'd want this in my bedroom. On the highest settings, it sounds like a regular fan.

Other Thoughts: Assume that it's been sitting on its side while it was shipped to you, and leave it sitting upright for a day before turning it on. And read the directions.

1 out of 5 eggsworst product, buy be aware

Pros: portable

Cons: rotary compressor started making knocking noice after 10 minutes. DeLonghi doesn't have service centre in MA. I will have to drive to Connecticut to drop off the unit and pick up the other day. The $200 saved is not enough to pay for the rental car expense.

Other Thoughts: Buy from local store and check location of service center.

3 out of 5 eggsNice AC at a high price

Pros: It is powerful and works well. We bought a heater and decide to get this brand.

Cons: The packing was horrible. One of the wheels broke so I cannot wheel it from room to room without carrying it. It's too loud even with sleep mode.

Other Thoughts: There mus be other ones out there that are cheaper and quiter.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY THIS ITEM IT DOES NOT WORK

Pros: I cannot say anything good about this air conditioner as it does not work.

Cons: They do not pack them properly and we ordered two units, both were damaged and DO NOT work. Only one would even power on and when the compressor turns it almost knocks the unit over from the misbalance inside of it. Has an extremely loud knocking sounds and then shuts down from the problem. New Egg will not replace or give us a refund (even though we only received it yesterday), BUYER BEWARE, this is a non refund item and they do not work due to poor packaging. I would highly recommend never ordering this item from New Egg. We order a ton of stuff from New Egg all the time and this is the first time we have had trouble with anything.

Other Thoughts: Pay a few extra dollars and buy it local from a hardware store so you know it isn't damaged from poor shipping.

4 out of 5 eggsGood unit for the price

Pros: This unit was purchased/installed for a client 3 weeks ago to cool a 24U server rack in an 8x15 room with limited airflow and dripless operation was a must. Prior to installation, the room temp would spike around 91F and servers would send thermal alerts, now rack is nearly full and all equipment is nicely cold at around 68F.

Cons: None, and Newegg shipping was fast as always

Other Thoughts: I reviewed 15 other similar products and read what limited reviews were out there before finally settling on this one. Granted it's only been running for a few weeks and I can't foresee how it will be in 6 months or a year but should there be issues, I'll update this review.
