3 out of 5 eggsNot too bad

Pros: It is safe because I will not be burnt when I touch it accidentally. I had one heater of the smiliar design; I burnt my skin by an accidental touch.

Cons: A small area on the heater is broken when I received the heater.

Pros: Turns Electricity into Heat!

Quiet

Pre-Assembled

The thermostat seems to have a realistic range. If you set it to it's midpoint it will cut off in the mid sixties (F), unlike a lot of heaters I've seen that will just stay on all the time unless they are set to their lowest setting.

Cons: I wish the unit was labeled with the power draw for each of the three possible power positions [Low, Medium, and High]. It obviously draws 1500Watts on High; but with 1500Watts being so close to the load limit of the circuits in my house, I could really use to know those numbers so that I can watch my limit.

Other Thoughts: Overall the heater seems stable and safe. It would be a bit more reassuring if they included tip-over protection, but I really doubt that anything bad would happen if you did manage to tip it over.

Do pay attention to the warnings - this thing will suck a LOT of electricity on high. Even on its medium setting I can feel some warmth in the power cord.

I have several cats in my house. None have been brave or foolish enough to try to jump on top of the heater, nor have they been *surprised* or injured by it, though they do enjoy laying on the shelf next to (and just above) it.

I'm using this in a basement room that's probably around 500 Sq Ft. It does put out enough heat to significantly raise the air temperature, but I think I would have been happier with the direct heat of an infrared heater (though I have serious safety concerns about them).

You can definitely hear the oil when it's heating up, but it's not too loud and it will settle pretty quickly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat unit for a cold room

Pros: Very quiet.
Hot to the touch, but won't burn you if you touch it.
"Gentle" heat, not forced air. Won't dry out the room.

Cons: Slow to heat up the room. Not "targeted" heat.

Other Thoughts: I've had a similar DeLonghi model (actually, 2 of them) for over a year. This model seems to have corrected the only complaint I have with the old one: Difficult to see the temp setting. This is an oil-filled heater, so it's silent (except for thermostat clicking), but does take a long time to warm the room. If you wanted to keep one room warmer so you could turn down heat in the rest of the house, this is perfect for the job.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Just bought mine. I didn't buy mine because of the ratings. I bought due to we have an oil filled heater already we love that one. I hope this new one doesn't let me down.

Cons: At this time none.

Other Thoughts: Bought it for living room / kitchen.
