DeLonghi TCH7090ER Heater

Pros: At first I was empressed with the unit so I bought a second identical unit.

Cons: Less than one winter season, the thermostate in BOTH units failed to work. Had set at lowest temp setting of 60F and I had to manually shut the unit off when it got too hot in the room. Then the second unit did the same thing. And the second unit also would sometimes shut down for no apparent reason at setting of 60F and in a cool room and I would had to unplug the unit from the wall outlet to get it started again. It was a BIG mistake buying these unit's.

Pros: -

Cons: Packaging of this product was the worst I have ever seen. They might as well not even included the unit in a box. Remote was missing and unit did not appear to function properly.

Other Thoughts: Have used DeLonghi heating products in the past and would expect unit to work well if packaged and shipped properly.

Pros: Newegg customer service has been extremely helpful in promptly refunding the amount when we reported that the shipment arrived in a battered state. I really applaud the Customer rep's help in understanding our problem and initiating the refund process.

I got my refund back promptly in couple of days.

Cons: The product packaging is a little let down because the product was sent as-is without any packaging material. As a result of this the product arrived in a completely damaged. The heater stand was all broken in to small pieces with electric wires exposed. It was beyond any repair. I blame FedEx for handling the product so roughly.

Pros: My rating is based on the heater only and I found it to be a great one for auxiliary heating a large office.

I have been looking for a long time for a heater that had a decent fan only option and have bought several heaters only to be disappointed. Some of the disappointments were major name brands.

The fan option in this heater is good and will get me through those time when the temperature heats up a bit and I need a fan only to circulate the air.

Heater seems to behave and maintain the temperature setting that I choose, cycling on and off as needed. I can't say that the thermostat is accurate, because I did not measure it against an actual thermometer.

The remote control is the icing on the cake. It is sturdy, easy to understand, and overall I can control the unit from the remote. I actually never used the buttons on the unit itself.

So if I am on a call and I need quiet, a single press of the remote will turn off the unit.

All I can say is that I am happy with the unit and have not found anything lacking that would cause me to continue my heater search.

Cons: I excluded the box from the ratings, because I am rating the product. However, as many other reviewers have stated, the box is the drawback. In my case, the box arrived slightly damaged, bent, creased, etc., but all the contents were intact.

The simple truth of the matter is that the box used for shipping is a retail display box. So when Newegg receives this item, it is probably packaged in a carton along with other units.

It should never be shipped in the retail display box. It is flimsy, and the bottom is not even securely sealed. It is a fold in bottom and under any kind of shipping stress, it could open up.

Newegg really needs to ship this in another box. As a poor second alternative, at least tape the bottom and top of the box. It might keep things from falling out.

Pros: Great Price, Quiet, warms my bathroom quick (and I have 10 foot ceilings)

Cons: Didn't come with remote, just the batteries to the remote? but I didn't really need a remote anyhow.

Pros: Heated my whole house with 2 units, a lot cheaper then heating with oil, A LOT CHEAPER... Takes up very little space and is cool to the tough at any location of unit except of course in front of the element.

Cons: Bought 2 of these units. One came in a box that was totally destroyed and I had to hold the bottom of the box so the unit wouldn't fall out but the remote was still with the unit. This unit when oscillating has a loud ticking noise. Kept this unit on the lowest heat setting all winter long.

Second unit, box was perfect but remote was missing. the oscillating feature on this one is noiseless. DON'T depend on the built-in thermostat. It has a mind of it's own. You could have it set on 70 and it may not come on until it's 65 or may not go off until the room temperature is 75 or higher. VERY UNDEPENDABLE.

To use the remote, you have to be pointing remote DIRECTLY in front of the unit.

Other Thoughts: Although a very nice looking unit, do your shopping BEFER you decide to buy. It's not the great deal you may think it is.

Cons: This is not a con against the heater. Newegg keeps shipping in flimsy retail box! I got a RMA-replacement shipped again in retail box and the shipping department skimped on packaging tape, used just 2 strips this time one on top one at bottom at least improving from last time when they only used one on top of box. This time corner of box is ripped and bottom flap opened due to flimsy retail box and using just 2 strips of packaging tape

Pros: Was hoping to put it to good use

Cons: Newegg ships this item in flimsy retail box, without using tape at the bottom of box! How inept is that? The remote control fell out of the box and the heater has something loose inside.

Pros: Good heater. Read instructions before U cut it down. Best heater I've ever had.
