Pros: Cools a small room, fairly well.
Cons: The main con here is the weight. This thing is heavy. Not so heavy that I couldn't carry upstairs by myself, but I would say, if you are not confident in your strength, make sure you have another person there to help you. The unit is as load as you would expect an AC to be. I've heard AC units that are a little more quiet than this one but overall, I'm not sound sensitive so typically I can deal with it. But if you are a person who does not like loud noises, especially when trying to sleep, than this might not be great for your bedroom. The window part is basically my own con. I was looking for a windowless option so I could keep my windows shut. I didn't see anything in the description at the time that stated that it needed a window so I purchased it. I was a little disappointed to see that you do need to lead an exhaust hose to the window, but it's something I can live it. Now, with that being said, it does use FAR less window than a normal window unit, and this can be removed very easily if you feel that you would like to close your window. So if you purchase this item, just make sure you know that this does require a small section of your window, or a temporary hole in the wall for the exhaust home. For your reference, it uses probably around 3 inches high and 2 or 3 feet wide, or if you don't want to use the window stand that it comes with, than about 2 inches high and 1 foot wide.
Other Thoughts: PLEASE don't take my cons and think it's a bad product. I think over all, it's a good unit. It gets the job done. My wife and I like it to be colder when we sleep, and when we have this going, we are normally sleeping with blankets on during 90 degree summers.
