  • Thermoblock heating element
ICON Loading...

True to the Krups tradition of precision-quality gourmet appliances, the 1200-watt XP4030 Espresso machine pumps out café quality espresso drinks in the comfort of your own home. The thermoblock heating element ensures perfect temperature for every cup, so you never have to endure scorched, bitter espresso.

The steam nozzle features Krups’ Perfect Froth head, which injects the ideal blend of steam and air into your milk (it also makes heavenly, fluffy scrambled eggs!), so you get foolproof froth every time. The removable 32-ounce water reservoir allows you to make multiple shots without refilling, and couldn’t be easier to clean. The filter holder includes 3 inserts, so you can make single or double shots from espresso grounds, or make a quick cup using an ESE pod.

The unit is equipped with a connector for an optional water filtration system (sold separately), so you get the pure taste of espresso, without the mineral flavor that tap water can add. Pop the stainless steel drip tray out for a quick wash, and you’re ready for your next espresso-fest! Next time you want to treat your friends to a great cup of espresso, you can do it at home, and skip the noisy crowds at the coffee house!

1 out of 5 eggsnot well designed

Pros: none

Cons: I read the directions carefully but it did not work out of the box, sputtered and made lots of noise. Returned it.

Other Thoughts: I only drink espresso (never American coffee) and have tried many machines over the years. This was the worst - an overdesigned behemoth.

1 out of 5 eggsLousy thing stopped working...

Pros: Picked one of these up at Bed Bath and Beyond 6 months ago. Newegg has a better price which doesn't surprise me.

Cons: The pump started giving problems 2 months into the usage. Last week it finally gave up the ghost. the machine turns on, makes thee usual compression noises and nothing comes out... I've cleaned the filter wiht the supplied nozzle cleaner but it 'doesn't change anything. I've had three expresso machines before, this is by far the worst one.

Other Thoughts: I've had good experiences with electrolux and delongi... I might try out a saeco as i've heard really good things from them. The worst thing in the morning is getting up early for work and not being able to get the coffee going....

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Expresso

Pros: Price! For a buck 50 this little machine delivers the goods. It produces GREAT expresso with a thick rich crema that rivals my Rancilio. Easy to use, great coffee, awesome price. Enough said

Cons: Noisy!

Other Thoughts: I got this for my office and have been a very happy camper ever since. This machine does what it needs to do, it is a great expresso maker for the novice barista. Get a good grinder and you will start to enjoy a fantastic cup of expresso in no time.

4 out of 5 eggsGood machine

Pros: As far as making espresso it does what its suppose to do. Very sturdy. Nice removable tip for the wand makes cleaning up easier. Easy to empty drain and tank. I also like the pre-measured inserts to help with getting the right amount.

Cons: Sprays sometimes. Loud. Warming tray takes a long time to warm up. Sometimes if the tank isn't pressed down good enough it will burn the beans (the users fault).

Other Thoughts: Ok if you want to get technical, making an espresso shot should take around 30 sec. but this machine only takes 18, I haven't noticed a difference in taste (compared to starbucks). It does come with a plastic press instead of a sturdy metal one, but that doesn't bother me. I didn't buy mine from newegg!
