KRUPS KM4065 Stainless steel Glass Programmable Coffee Machine

Pros: Extraction level increased, taste is better. What more can you say except awesome.

Cons: Just wished they came in black.

Other Thoughts: Just plain good coffee maker. Enjoy all of the features.

Pros: Decent design.
Makes decent coffee (though this can be said of most drip coffee makers these days).
Standard programmable features.

Cons: Incredibly poor design w/hinged access to water tank (too small, doesn't open widely enough, too hard to reach, especially for L-handers, & blocked by water filter holder) AND floppy, loose, permanently-attached hinged carafe lid. Nearly impossible to fill water tank without spilling.
Carafe lid is too loose (but not removable), causing spills when pouring. Stabilize it w/your thumb & it will be burned b/c of poorly situated vents. Inability to remove lid hinders filling of tank & cleaning; hinges will surely break soon.
Filter holder removable, but lacks flat bottom. So, it MUST be filled while in place in the machine -- inconvenient, causes coffee grounds to scatter in machine.
Water filters outrageously overpriced.

Other Thoughts: Doubt the designers actually tried to use this machine.
Do not recommend it.

Pros: Nice looking, easy to program user interface, widely distributes hot water over coffee grounds, make real hot coffee.

Cons: I subtracted two eggs only because it is next to impossible to pour water in the reservoir using the coffee pot without spilling water into the coffee grounds.
There is a very small target area in the corner of reservoir to hit or you will spill water.
The lid does not open past vertical, or far enough to allow you to completely tilt the pot past 90 deg., pouring out the last remaining portion of water is difficult.

Other Thoughts: I see this a a design flaw and would not recommend it.

Pros: Very Nice looking, display is on top so no coffee spills on timer,
Two separate on/off buttons one for manual on/off and one for programed on/off, you can also program two different start times, one for weekdays and one for week ends. Adjustable auto shut off up to three hrs.

Cons: The pot is larger in diameter then my old krups making it forward heavy and uncomfortable to hold level. The handle is not as controllable to pour coffee without spilling. The lid on top of reservoir does not open far enough to make filling the reservoir easy, the pot hits the lid restricting rotation of pot while pouring water in, making it hard to pour out all the water without holding longer for the last amount of water to dribble out.

Other Thoughts: From a cold start it brewed 12 cup in 9min-10sec. and the temperature was 175deg.
My three year old Krups model Fme4 beat it by 12 sec and the temperature was 180deg. It poured coffer easy and controllable without spilling, Easy to fill reservoir, clean and the carafe swung out for easy removal of old filter.
I thing Krups sacrificed looks over funtion on this model.
However from my experience krups makes better coffee.
Knowing what I know now I would have replaced my leaking Krups with the same model. and saved $40.
