Great for Price
- Pros: I've made some great ice cream with this machine. It does the job just fine, all you need to do is find a great recipe.
Easy clean up.
Extremely affordable!
I've heard awful things about some ice cream makers, but this one has worked every time for me.
- Cons: The freezer pack can take up to 8 hours to freeze completely. If you don't wait long enough, it just will not make ice cream. The solution inside is meant to freeze and defrost slowly so that it stays really cold long enough to make tiny ice crystals in the ice cream (key to making smooth texture)
You can only make about 1 quart of ice cream. Parties will take several batches.

- Other Thoughts: There is absolutely no reason anyone shouldn't be able to make ice cream with this machine. It works 100%. If you're ice cream does not come out great, it's probably because you don't have the best recipe (higher fat content leads to creamier ice cream) or perhaps you did not freeze the pack long enough (I made one batch that just got really cold and didn't freeze up. Was my fault. I refroze the pack and it worked fine)
Many people complain that the ice cream is too soft to serve when the batch is done. OF COURSE IT IS. The only reason industrial machines make harder ice cream is because they are essentially a freezer with metal blades inside. You are buying a plastic machine, it would break if the ice cream got too hard.
People also complain it becomes rock hard when put in the freezer. Two things that will fix this: 1) Higher fat content milk (fat does not freeze well). 2) Put a tablespoon of some flavorles alcohol in the batch in the last few minutes (alcohol also does not freeze)
