4 out of 5 eggsOnly Buy On Sale

Pros: Pops every kernel
Everything, but the base, is dishwasher safe

Cons: Not worth $110

Other Thoughts: I got sick of overly salted microwave popcorn (with its potential health hazards [Diacetyl]), and the lid, on the old pot I use to make popcorn on the stove, had warped. So, oil was splattering all over the stove top ...

I Bought this on Sale, after having read numerous bad reviews on other sites. It does seem cheaply made. So, I am taking care when assembling it (forcing none of the plastic parts) ... the stirring mechanism does not do a great job of moving all the kennels, but it does seem to get them all to pop. I pre-fill it with oil and popcorn, and turn it on 10 minutes before my movie starts (take 8 minutes to pop).

Besides the cheap construction (I wonder how many batches it will make before it breaks?) ... it also splatters a small amount of oil out of the seal between the bucket and heating unit. Unlike a stove, were you can not put a paper towel around the heating coil (or gas flame); you can place it on top of paper napkins, and catch the splatter.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Love it, I use much less oil than popping on the stove top. Which was the primary reason for the purchase. The constant stirring feature seems to help pop almost all the corn. I would recommend using a gourmet popping corn to get the best results Bonus is that it is so simple even my wife can use it.

Cons: clip retainers for base quickly broke but do not seem to affect operation of machine. The on/off switch is mounted on the front of the machine and can be bumped to the on position so make sure to unplug after every use. (oops)

Other Thoughts: Cant go wrong..... its a Cuisinart

4 out of 5 eggsIt's a wonderful thing

Pros: - Works 6 months and counting!
- As long as you pay attention to the amount of oil it pops consistantly
- easy to clean
- simple to use

Cons: - bulky

Other Thoughts: After creating our own landfill mountain of hot air and oil poppers, we were so happy to find this one. We probably have popcorn once of twice a week not enough I would think to make us go through three hot air poppers in a year and a bit.
