Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an old unit that came with my house. The old unit wasn't able to keep my AZ room cool.. Especially when there were people in there with you. However, it did have heat... Something I used maybe once in our AZ winter (not very bad - won't miss it much).

As soon as I turned this thing on for the first time, you could already tell it was powerful. The fan blows air very strongly and cools the room super quick! Even with a few people in there. It is about the same if not a little quieter than my old unit.

I installed this already and am working on putting shade screens in as well. I'm looking forward to a much cooler summer than last year and I won't have to regard my AZ room as off-limits during the day anymore!

Pros: Cools well

Cons: Designed poorly. Has openings large enough to let gnats, mosquitoes, fruits flies in. The housing tin is so thin you can hear the rain hit it from more than 30 ft. away. Would not recommened anyone buy one. I will never buy any Sharp products again.

Pros: I just replaced an old 5000BTU's Gold star with this 10000BTU's Sharp, installation was very easy provided you have someone to help you lift it to the window, this thing is huge and heavy.
I like the touch pad versus the old knob from the old one I had, and also the electrical wire is very thick and flexible, It's not recommended to use it with an extension cord however.
The units works as advertised and blows very cold air it makes you forget this is summer, it cools a large room super fast on low setting, I see no need to go medium or high. very pleased with the performance.
I was torn between all these name brands but decided to go with a known brand instead just for the sake of playing it safe.

Cons: Now the noise issue, I think it's a little noisy even on Low setting, but not that bad compare to any AC I've seen including the central units.

Other Thoughts: When it's 100 degrees out there the noise will sound like music to your ears.

Pros: Unit works great, much more than i expected. Its not the power hog i expected it to be. Installation was easy. Unit is fairly quiet, when it kicks on it doesnt dim the lights and wow does it ever put out cold air. I like it cold in my house and it delivers it. Ofcourse delivery from newegg was fast as usual.

Other Thoughts: Hope it lasts, i usually only buy GE ac's, LG's doesnt put out the cold air they claim, and all others are a roll of the dice. this unit was everything it said it was. Remote is easy to use. Am very pleased with this purchase. For $249 just cant beat it.

Cons: DOA. Compressor worked, but just blew air the same temperature as the outside air. I suspect it had no coolant, like an LG unit I bought last year. Sent back to Newegg for a replacement.

Other Thoughts: Kudos to the Newegg customer support staff for helping me get this thing back to them ASAP.

Pros: It is a one piece unit, meaning you don't have to first install an ac's shell into the window sill. Easy install.
The Unit has a multi-function remote that works fine.
I live in a 2 bedroom 2nd floor apartment in a private home. Its kept the whole place nice and cool, even during the current 100 degree heatwave. Even on "Energy Saver" mode.
Free delivery. Why lug an air conditioner around let them deliver it....free.

Cons: None yet, other than I feel everything everywhere is priced to high.

Other Thoughts: I buy a lot of stuff here because of price and convenience (free delivery).
I've only owned the unit for 2 weeks. So far it's performed fine.
As with everything you buy longievity and warrenty are tested only whit time and as needed.

Pros: This is one of the best AC unit i have ever owned. Alot better than the Kenmore it replaced thats for sure .

Other Thoughts: I would just like to thank Newegg for having this AC unit on there web site. They saved me $50 bucks right off the bat that i almost bought from there competitor that started with a F and free shipping which i got in 3 days to beat the heat wave we had this last summer. Thanks paid 249 for this baby

Pros: Works as advertised, efficient and rapid cooling. Oddly enough, the unit seems to cool best in "Energy Save" mode. Noise level is acceptable to me; the remote control provides access to all of the unit functions.

Pros: Um... A big fan..?

Cons: When I opened the box, the metal bracket on the top to hold on the edges was bent down so I had to bend it back before being able to insert the included sides. I turn it on and much to my dismay, the air coming out isn't cold at all. I let it run for a few hours thinking maybe it was shipped on its side, however even after three hours it was still blowing hot air.

I will be returning this, I realize that it isn't offered here anymore. If you see it anywhere save your money and buy yourself a better one. When it comes to this heat, paying that few dollars more can make the difference.
