Feature

Feature
The QuietClean air purifier offers high efficiency air cleaning with permanent, washable filters, saving you money on expensive replacement filter costs.** The permanent filter helps capture up to 99% of airborne particles such as smoke, dust, pollen, and pet dander.* This product also effectively captures mold spores.*

Compared to ionic air purifiers, the filter from the HFD-120-Q captures 18 times more pollutants.*,*** This superior cleaning performance is due primarily to the fact that our model uses a fan to effectively circulate the air throughout the room, forcing particles through a 3-step filtration system. With whisper quiet operation, the QuietClean air purifier circulates and filters room air.

The permanent filter is easy to clean – simply rinse in water 4 times a year.** An electronic filter indicator illuminates to remind you when to clean the filter.

This model is recommended for medium to large size rooms and only uses the same amount of power as a typical household light bulb. Its sleek tower design and quiet operation makes it ideal for any room in your home, but this unit is particularly popular for bedroom use.

Washable filters

On/off oscillation control

AHAM Certified

* From the air that passes through the filter. ifD filter helps capture airborne particles that are 2 microns or larger in size from the air that passes through the filter.
** Based on ordinary use and care.
*** Performance as compared to Ionic Pro model CADR test at an independent lab.

4 out of 5 eggsgood air flow and quiet

Pros: this unit has good air flow, it runs quiet when new. The perma filter had a strong ozone smell out of box, run it a few weeks, and wash it once, reduced the odor. Easy to clean.

Cons: a bit expensive. fan developed noise after a few weeks use.

Other Thoughts: I have my unit a few months now. This is a good product overall. I would get another one if at sale price. The regular price is a bit stiff.

2 out of 5 eggsHas a electrical noise problem

Pros: For what it's sold for the unit seems to operate mechanicaly fine, IF it is not affecting other devices in the house.

Cons: As soon as we started using the this fan we started noticing that another electronic device began to develop a strange problem. We have a Sony KDF-50E2000 LCD TV which had been working great for many years. With the fan turned on and running, connected to the same circuit in the house, the TV would randomly stop working for 3 - 10 seconds. My first guess is the fan must be building up static electricity and it would discharge through the 120VAC side and send a spike through the AC line that would reset the electronics in the TV, then pick back up without needing to warm up the lamp. This only happen when the fan was running. I have since moved the fan to a different circuit in another room and the problem stopped. Note I do have the TV on a APC 600 VAC UPS w/ems noise filtering. I was very surprised that the fan made such extreme electrical noise to have this effect. We have other standard ocillating fans that do not cause this problem at all.

Other Thoughts: I think this is enough of a problem that I would not recommend this product. In this day and age the manuf should have resolved this type of issue in testing. I have seen problems like this over the years with other electro-mechanical products, in other computer environments.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well for me.

Pros: I did not think to check newegg for this unit and picked it up at W-mart and paid more for it($147.97).Live and learn I guess.
It works well and dose a solid job in the room where I have my gaming pc's.I see alot less dust and I only run it on med most of the time.I run this puifier 24hr's aday seven days aweek and I love it's performance.
My unit dose not make much noise at all and I have run it on high while moveing furniture aruond the room to keep the dust down.I do only run it on med at night and it dose not mess with watching tv or anything I do online or gaming. My pc's make more noise than this unit dose.
THIS THING MOVES ALOT OF AIR.

Cons: Did not order it from newegg and paid more.Live and learn to check newegg first....I have found no cons with the purifier at all..I like it...

Other Thoughts: It is large and needs to be around 3ft from any walls so take this into acount when ordering. It has about a 6ft cord and is made solid. It gives good performance for the money just get yours from newegg and not w-mart.It will save you some money...

5 out of 5 eggsGood product

Pros: Been running nonstop since arrival 4 mos ago. Quiet, cleans the air very well, tall narrow profile fits in most all spaces. Cleans air of cigar & cigarette smoke, dust, cat dander & general odors. Ionizing works well w/o overdoing it; filters easy to clean. Filters are well-made; unit housing is plastic mix - could be susceptible to breakage. Overall, very happy with this product!

Cons: It wasn't cheap.

Other Thoughts: Filters do discolor, even with regular cleaning. New egg service and selection rocks, as always.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet at full speed

Pros: I could smell the difference shortly after being turned on. It has been running at top speed for 4 months. I cleaned it a month ago.
Mainly because of 2 cats, my computer needed cleaning about every month. I cleaned my computer right after getting it. It kept the computer so clean, I just cleaned the computer 4 months later & there was hardly any dust or cat hairs.

Cons: Was out of service for 12 hours after cleaning due to all the warnings about moisture.

3 out of 5 eggsGood so far

Pros: Cools down and refreshes room fast. I use it for a very small room 10X8 FT -infants room-and it cools it down a lot. It feels less stuffy in the room when in use. works like a fan in a large room. Oscillating feature works good. dust buildup is considerably less in the room. not sure it will do the same in a large area. no filters to clean is a plus!

Cons: pretty large for what it is. cant use it in colder months it really cools down the room. its a little noisy but not enough to keep you up. its good for the price.

Other Thoughts: works well for a small room.
