5 out of 5 eggsNice Fan

Pros: Moves a lot of air in a small size. Its sturdy. Noise level is not bad.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: We fastened this to the ceiling so it could move air out of our server closet. It has really done the job.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad!

Pros: This is my 2nd Honeywell HT-900. Like most inexpensive fans, it will start to go bad after a period of time. Seems to last a couple years then they don;t want to start back up unless you manually get the blade turning and then never turn it off. But it still is a good bargain as long as you aren't expecting to leave this is your will. It puts out a good amount of air and is not too loud.

Cons: None really...it does what it is supposed to do.

3 out of 5 eggsBlows Some

Pros: Looks cool.
Will only strain the weakest of people when the user moves it from one location to another.
Its got that Honeywell name. Didn't Honeywell used to stand for computers and automation systems? Now its fans.

Cons: This fan moves some air, but not enough. The heavy plastic blades over-burden the inadequate motor so that nothing more than a light breeze eminates.

Barely suitable as a personal fan on a desk. Totally useless as a room fan.

Surely a more powerful motor could be implemented. I once connected a 3000rpm weed-eater motor to a spare fan blade. The motor spins so fast that the contraption flies, which wasn't really the intended purpose, but novel nonetheless.

Other Thoughts: The fan market sure is reflecting the global down-turn in business product quality. Long gone are the days when appliances would last a user's lifetime. Now they seemed destined to break the moment unsealed, not that I've had any problems with my fan. Nope, its going on 2 years now and still running as it did when new, which isn't quite adequate.

3 out of 5 eggsQuiet, at a cost to airflow

Pros: Inexpensive (got discounts), pleasant enough design, quiet running.

Cons: Not as much airflow (CFM) as my previous Honeywell fans.

Other Thoughts: Maybe an unfair comparison, but comparing this fan to a Honeywell HT-804 that I bought 4 years ago (and it's still going strong, BTW) I have to run this fan at the highest speed setting to get the same airflow as my old one at its lowest setting. The HT-900 is definitely quieter than its older cousin.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate/Correction

Pros: I want to correct that I have two different models of this fan: the HT-800 and the HT-900. They are both great, but the HT-800 is the one we ran all last summer 24/7, and I believe that model has been discontinued. The HT-900 seems to be a slightly lighter build, and hasn't had the heavy workout that our HT-800 has, but it, too, is pretty wonderful.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsI love this fan!

Pros: I love this fan. I have 4 of them. You can sit over 10 feet away for this fan and and feel it. I have one in my gym room, one in my living room, one at work, and one in my bedroom. It is small but moves air.
There are 2 other people in my department that own this fan and they love theirs as well.

Cons: This is not a whole room fan but for a personal fan, I have not found one better.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fan

Pros: We've bought two of these fans several years ago (big box store). My husband bought them to dry out a carpet after a water heater failure. They ran 24 hours a day for two weeks (the home was out of town and the house was empty). I was so impressed that we bought another a couple of years ago. I can't speak to whether the current build is of the same quality as ours, but I've been VERY impressed with their quality and durability. Not flimsy, well balanced. I think they are quiet enough - I can sleep with one running. Last summer we ran one 24 hours a day to create wind turbulance at an open skylight, to keep the mosquitos out. Very successful.

Not the easiest to clean, but I did take one apart last year for cleaning. Good design for that, just a few long screws.

To me, these fans are everything you want in a product that you rarely get these days. Quality, effective, well built, long-lived.

Cons: None
