2 out of 5 eggsHunter Thermostat

Pros: Ok to install

Cons: Manual not easy to read
Sapn is the number of degrees in-between turning on and off
normal in is one to three in three steppes but this unit it is 1/2 a degree per step.

Other Thoughts: support has to read manual as I did.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Very easy to use and install. I really like my thermostat.

Cons: The stickers that come with it to mark wires when installing are a bit tedious.

Other Thoughts: You can purchase this same unit at a local WalMart store for 25 bucks.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked for 1 Year

Pros: Worked great for a year

Cons: Broke this past weekend. It has the air conditioner running the whole weekend. I was out of town and the line is frozen now.

Other Thoughts: Great if you only need it for a year.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: currently are none.

Cons: i seem to be the one lucky guy who got the defect because no one else reports this problem online (from what i can tell)

Thermostat seems to be defective out of box. i tried about 50 times to latch the faceplate and the bottom plastic latch does not click in place. I tried to make it work anyway and taped faceplate in place to hold and then played with programming and seemed to work.

Then, unfortunately it appears as though i shocked the unit w/ static electricity from carpet and seems to have reset to default time etc. and now the thermostat doesn't seem to work at all even though the screen lights up etc. and i re-programmed it and everything YET still does not work....SIGH

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Easy to use
Home today button
Great default settings

Cons: Wire connections not clear in manual

Other Thoughts: I just got this to replace an old dial thermostat and its already saving me money. Once set up is so easy to use. I thought the programing might be difficult because my wife works a rotating schedule, but it couldn't be easier. When she is home, she just presses the home today button and the temp kicks up to 68°C. Only con was the wiring in my old thermostat was not marked and the manual did not do a good job addressing this. If it had instructions for standard wiring it would have made installation much easier. All in all I'm very happy.

5 out of 5 eggsWell designed with one limitation

Pros: Attractive well designed unit. Programmable but would have preferred one additional programming feature (see Cons "I wish"). Feature rich. Looks great on wall.

Cons: A bit complicated to program. I wish that, once thermostat programmed, there was a global override to change the settings in the following manner: 1) All seven days. 2) Weekday and weekend settings separately. There are other override options like the "Home Today" option and a Permanent (vacation) override so this is a less onerous issue.

Other Thoughts: Familiarize yourself fully with the manual as there are many useful features. I really appreciate the virtual community on this site. When there are many reviews, I trust the product knowledge that I read.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Performer well designed

Pros: Works extremely well. I use in bedroom at night and office by day. Electric bill was surprising lower than I anticipated, but this month I'll have a full month's data.

Cons: Manual does not clarify an important distinction: The use of the "Comfort Temp" button (green light) overrides all other settings to create a room temperature of 68 - 72º. In order for this to work, press both power buttons to the "on" position.

Other Thoughts: I learned that when I called Customer Service to ask about the difference between using it and not. The manual states that once you set the temperature, it will hold at that temperature, so why Comfort Temp? (answer above). Amusingly, the friendly and helpful customer service rep explained that since the DeLonghi company is Italian they don't do full translations to other languages!! So keep warm with this great heater and a cup of great Capuccino. Ciao Baby!!!

3 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Looks good, home button is nice. Works.

Cons: I'm a techie, but I still found programming the thing to be a pain. It's one of those setups where there are too few buttons dedicated to a complex task. Imagine programming a timer that has 4 mandatory time periods per day, each day, multiplied by 1 set of heat settings and 1 set of cooling settings. Then imagine doing this with 2 or three buttons that are not natively labeled for such as task.

Other Thoughts: I should have spent more money on a thermostat that has more buttons to speed up programming.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy Setup Easy Operation

Pros: Picked this one up from the other customer reviews, the free shipping and the price. I live in Arizona and was lucky (?) enough to have my old thermostat go out in Feburary instead of July. This unit is well layed out, easy to program, and it uses less batteries than my previous unit.

Cons: The only trouble I had was minor. My previous honeywell unit didn't have standard wiring labels and didn't match this unit or others on the market. I was able to look up the wiring diagram of the old unit online and match it up with the functions of this one.

Don't like how the cover over the controls flips up and not down.

Other Thoughts: Good unit, easy to install, great blue light.
