5 out of 5 eggsNice!

Pros: Makes dry Cleveland Winters feel oh so nice in the house!

Cons: A handle on the under side of the tank would be a nice addition.

Other Thoughts: Its loud. Its a fan. I like fan noise at night so no issue. I put this at the back of the upstairs hallway......crank on high.....moist cool air gets drawn down steps then around 1st floor then down basement steps then moist air get blown back up the furnace dry and warm! Its a great system!

4 out of 5 eggsAs expected

Pros: Water fill is not as often as some others, cute light for kids room (and to remind me it's on), easy to clean filter, and no replacement filters to keep buying. I have another type and the filters end up costing a bundle. One every month, or if your water is less then ideal could be up to every other week. $12 a pop and that adds up fast. But this baby doesn't have a filter you have to buy.

Cons: Not very quiet, but I run a fan for white noise since I was a child (low to mid usually) so I don't notice anyway.

Other Thoughts: I havn't had the handle problem that some have. In fact I fill it up downstairs, carry it for a couple minutes to it's base by the handle and have had no problems. I've had to fill it for a few months so the handle seems fine. I like this unit alot over the other couple I have had, and am thinking of purchasing another. >.> I hate dry air, hehe.

1 out of 5 eggsRun away from this one!

Pros: NewEgg is great! My order was processed on a Monday evening (after hours) & the unit was here by Thursday morning. I have thoroughly enjoyed doing business with these guys. I wish ALL of my vendors were this good! As for the Hunter Humidifier, well it’s a fairly large unit. Much bigger than I expected and that’s fine, it definitely has a very large volume output. If you have a very large room, or just a modest size house (1600sq. ft.) this unit will do the job. With the fan speed on High, running non-stop, the 3.5 gallon water tank will last almost two days. We live in South Central Texas, were the humidity level has been as low as 10% for some time now and that’s with a Army Corp Lake in our back yard. This unit has made a Big Difference, breathing much better now. I should have bought one quite some time ago. Also, Hunter has a 5 year warranty on it's humidifiers, (You'll Need It).

Cons: Unit came on Thurs morning; I set it up right away (per Hunters instructions). Unit has this clear blue water tank w/a built in handle (Hunter calls it “Easy Tote Handle). Filled the tank in my sink w/3.5 gals of water, put the cap on, flipped the tank over & grabed the handle. Under the weight, the CHEAP-Made In China Plastic Tank, made cracking sounds, but could see no signs of damage. Friday night I filled the tank for the 2nd time & it again made cracking sounds when lifted, no visible signs of damage. We left the house for dinner & upon return 1½ hrs later, we found 3.5 gals of water on the floor. Looked the tank over top to bottom, under a bright light to figure out what happened. Found nothing. Chalked it up to “Pilot Error” & filled the tank for a 3rd time. As I lifted the tank out of the sink, the Easy Tote Handle broke off in my hand! The tank bounced of the rim of the sink & hit the floor shattering to pieces, along with another 3.5 gals of water.

Other Thoughts: With no water tank, had to resort to filling up bottom base reservoir until I could arrange for a replacement tank. Realized then the Low Water/Auto Shut Off feature didn’t work & accuracy of the Adjustable Humidistat is also bad. Called Hunter’s Customer Service 1st thing Sat, lady I spoke with said “I have one of the units, fill it up in my bathtub & NEVER use the Easy Tote Handle. Only grab water tank by the sides”. Told me they will send a new tank (made just like the first one), it would be 5-7 days. On Mon called Hunter’s main office & spoke w/a supervisor who offered no apologies for the unit’s poor design & performance. Told me I could file a claim for water damage caused by the tank & said he would send out a new unit (still 5-7 days) on delivery. Asked the details of the replacement, it’s exactly the same, so I expect the same results all over again. NewEgg offered a full refund, I told them that I plan on making Hunter responsible for their Cheap Chinese made product.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Quite As Advertised

Pros: Definitely took care of the static problem in my apartment, I can do things like kiss my wife, walk across the carpet, pet the cat, etc., without getting shocked. This is in addition to relief of dry sinuses, and my eyes not getting so dry.

Cons: LOUD! Whisper quiet fan? I don't think so! If you turn the fan on high it drowns out airport noise, even on low and with the machine on the other side of the apartment I can still hear the thing quite well.

Other Thoughts: I wasn't expecting total silence, and from hearing other people talk about various brands of humidifiers they own there is no such thing as "whisper quiet", so I guess it really is all relative. If you are comparing this unit to a 350 Chevy with un-muffled headers wound up to 5000 RPM, then yes, you could say this machine is "whisper quiet"......
