Amana ACD12JEE 12,000 Cooling Capacity (BTU)

Pros: Great A/C. This 12k unit is more than sufficient for an area where my 8k GE a/c could not keep up. Like the UV clean air option. Three day, free delivery. WOW. Great price.

Cons: Refurbished. First unit I ordered was DOA, and banged up. Paid $60 to return it. Got my purchase price refunded, but only a 3 month store credit for the return postage. FYI: Call before you return it so Newegg can issue a return label. I honestly don't think anyone attempted to refurbish the first unit sent to me.

Other Thoughts: Apparently, there is 'about' a one in three chance of getting a bad refurbished (or was it?) unit, according to all the other reviews I have read here. The ACD12KEE model is almost identical. Just not as nice looking. Glad I persisted, and ordered a replacement.

Pros: low price

Cons: received one month before never open it. now when I star to use it, just find out not working(no power, cannot turn on)

Pros: Does a great job cooling.

Cons: The unit arrived and the fan did not spin. I called Newegg who issued and RMA and wanted me to put the 80 lb. air conditioner back in the box, cart it to UPS, and ship it away. After they received it, they'd ship out a new one within seven days. Forget it. I opened up the air conditioner and found that there was a copper PIPE blocking the fan from spinning... Because the unit was not properly re-assembled. There was also a loose plastic piece bouncing around. I have no clue who checks these units for Amana, but whomever it was must've assumed that a non-air-moving conditioner was what I really wanted.

Other Thoughts: After it's fixed, it does a great job.
