Learn more about the Panasonic ES8103S

Nano Technology Delivers the Sharpest Blades
Panasonic delivers the sharpest blades for precise and accurate shaving, now with Nano Technology. While conventional shavers offer a range of 45° to 90° blades, this shaver comes with the sharpest blade angle at 30° — great for precision cutting. Nano Technology was also used to polish the industry's sharpest 30° blades to achieve even better cutting performance.

Pivot Action Shaving System for a More Comfortable Shave
Our top-of-the-line shavers feature an adjustable pivoting head for a more comfortable shave. The pivoting head rocks up and down, and back and forth, to follow the contours of your face. You can even adjust the amount of pivot based on your preference with the Pivot Action Selector. Now you can get the maximum comfort and support that you need for a clean, close shave.

Linear Motor Offers a Frictionless Shave
The unique Linear motor offers a frictionless, clean shave. At 13,000 RPMs, it's one of the fastest razors on the market and powers effortlessly through even the thickest beards for less pulling and irritation while shaving.

Shave Wet or Dry
Panasonic technology allows your shaver to be fully immersible in water for a great shave in or out of the shower. You can shave wet with lather or dry for a quick trim. When you're done shaving, simply rinse clean under water, click the shaver into the HydraClean dock, and your razor will be ready the next morning.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: A close, easy shave and it's super easy to clean. Best electric razor I've ever owned.

Cons: Loud, very loud... and the replacement blades are expensive.

Other Thoughts: My job requires that I shave daily and I bought this because I HATE shaving with disposable razors. I bought this after a lot of research and it works great. I get a decently close shave and the trimmer is great for my goatee.

It's super easy to clean and I can use it in the shower for an even closer shave. It's not a baby smooth shave, but it's good enough for work.

It's VERY loud and if I am up early, I have to use it in the hall bathroom to keep from waking up my wife.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: After reading numerous reviews I bought from Newegg on sale. I really can't add anything to the reviews as I agree with all the pro comments

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Cost a fraction of the Braun that it replaced, lower maintenance cost and a closer shave. What else to like!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little razor

Pros: Shaves well, strong motor, easy to clean, waterproof, little irritation

Cons: not the best shave out there

Other Thoughts: Compared to Remington--my old standby microscreen causes more irritation and doesn't shave as close. However, I tried a Remington titanium, and it shaves even closer--the smoothest shave I have ever had from an electric razor. I didn't like it in the end because it was difficult to clean, seemed poorly made, and I disliked the cleaning station. This Panasonic shaves almost as well and is super easy to clean under running water while not irritating my skin. Yes, it takes time to get a good shave--5-10 mins for my stiff bristles. The shaving area is also very small, but not a big deal. This is the #1 selling razor on the Big A... for what it's worth.

2 out of 5 eggsOverrated

Pros: Easy to clean
Holds a good charge
Display to show when it needs recharging
Washes with water

Cons: Mediocre shave
Extremely loud
Blade count exaggerated

Other Thoughts: This is the third Panasonic shaver I've owned; the first being the bottom of the line model, the second a 4-blade model. They all give comparable shaves, regardless of price or number of blades. This model is really loud, and gives a poor shave, especially around the neck. Any hair longer than about 1/16" is not cut. I need to pull the skin taut on my face and make several passes to get a decent shave. I often have to use the pop-up trimmer to cut hairs that are otherwise missed (usually on my neck). The pop-up trimmer also often folds back up and I have to use my thumb to keep it open.

I just bought a bottom-of-the-line Norelco rotary for 25 bucks, and it does a *much* better job in half the time, and is noticably more quiet. Somehow I thought the new technology of the Panasonic would be superior, especially considering all the positive reviews. Don't bother.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: This is the best razor I have ever owned, and I have a few years under my belt and quite a few different razors.

I love everything about this one and have used it for 3 years now.

I like this particular version so well I have now bought 4 in total, and just keep the other 3 for backup, because every few years instead of replacing the head & blades - for the sale $ I keep buying them at, it's cheaper to get a brand new whole razor.. which now I already have :) ...I think I'm set for the next 12 years, hopefully the batteries inside them will last that long brand new in the box? I'll write back in 12 years a let you know :)

Really, I love this razor and I don't do reviews, but this one is worth it. Paid just about $53 each time on sale, one time it was Amzn though.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: put a drip of oil on the top of the inside blade heads every month.

I never have put the head or blades under water yet, that just seems counter intuitive to me to wash them in water! imho

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice dry shave

Pros: If used with a light touch this shaver does the job comfortablely and close. I have used this shaver daily for over 2 years the Lithium ion battery is as good today as it was new. My old Remington, I had to have the battery changed every year. Very easy to keep clean. A couple of drops of Dawn detergent on the heads, run it under hot water and rinse the head area out and you are done. No more brushing. The linear Sawyer drive motor is different. Their are no rotating parts (brushes, bearings) to wear out. The electronics of this drive just slides the cutting blades back and forth 13,000 times per second. A lot faster than any rotary motor shaver. I replaced my last Remington with this shaver. Never to go back. I have tried the famous Rotary shaver and was very disapointed. This Panasonic ES8103S shaver gives me the best daily shave. I have over 50 years of experiance shaving using everything to come down the pike. I have enjoyed this one the best.

Cons: I have to change the foil and blades every six months.

If you buy from Newegg the WES9013PC set, that's cheaper than disposiable razors and shave cream.

Other Thoughts: I shave before I shower. I use Williams Electric shave, a few drops spread over the face, give it about 15 seconds to dry and then shave. Afterwords a quick rinse of the heads and your done. I have taken care of my shaver, keep it clean and when it gets down to 10% remaining battery life I charge it. When I travel I always charge it before I pack it. I pack it into an old Remington travel pouch. Then pack it in my suitcase where it will not get banged around. I plan on buying a second one to have as a backup if my current one does die. Panasonic has been making the ES8103S for a number of years. It has features that the newer models do not have.

3 out of 5 eggsOK Shaver Nothing Spectacular

Pros: Can be used in the shower or at the sink with hot water and shaving cream
A single charge can last for several shaves

Cons: It will take several passes to shave the area smooth
Whatever was a problem area with a razor will still be a problem area with this shaver

Other Thoughts: I am happy that I purchased this shaver and I do use it instead of razors now

4 out of 5 eggsGood Shaver

Pros: Good feel, cuts my thick hairs and misses very little, easy to maneuver around the curves of the face and under the nose, battery level readout.

Cons: Doesn't cut as close as a shaver with a lift and cut system and I still have to use the trimmer side to get those hairs that are laying down on my neck.

Other Thoughts: I am pleased with the ability of this razor to cut most of the hairs on my face. I don't have a lot of facial hair, but what I do have is thick, round hairs around my mouth, chin, and neck that lay down if they get too long. The razor still has trouble getting these hairs and I have to use the flip out trimmer.

I moved to this razor from another brand that has a lift and cut system and I notice that my hair grows back faster, meaning I am not getting as close of a cut. I stuck with this razor though because it gave a better shave on the first pass, the head is easier to maneuver, and it worked better when my face was fresh out of the shower.

Because of poor reviews I read before I purchased the razor, I have never gotten the razor wet, with the exception of the blades. So, even after a year, the battery display still works just fine.
