4 out of 5 eggsSo Far So good

Pros: This compact, inexpensive, convenient little Water Pick clone from Panasonic has been a joy from day one. It works flawlessly and, if you use high performance lithium batteries (2 ea. AA cells), it lasts for months without needing battery replacement. It really blasts food particles loose from between teeth and gum pockets! And it nests into its water reservoir for convenient storage and portability.

Cons: About the only drawbacks I have noted, have been the lack of sheer power when compared to 120 VAC corded models, and the fact that it does not come with several color coded personal "pik" attachments for use by other family members.

Other Thoughts: While I did state that its not as powerful as plug in models, it can, with fully charged batteries, do just as good a job (has actually made my gums bleed on occasion as I am on a blood thinner). Best of all its great for use when camping or just on the road.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: Small, Lightweight, Powerful, Portable.

Cons: color does not match my eyes.

Other Thoughts: I keep this at my desk, and I am able to clean the gaps between my teeth after meals, or snacks. One fill will get between all my teeth, and cleans better than brushing. No pain, or bleeding. Easy to fill, and empty chamber. Not loud, but does make some noise. This would be ideal for travel.

3 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly Good

Pros: Good water jet pressure, effective in getting between teeth, and strong enough to dislodge sticky substances from a variety of bathroom surfaces. Nice and portable

Cons: How the water is held in place (at full size) is potentially flimsy and requires some care to avoid a mess. Not for anyone lacking basic dexterity. Also, item came with only 1 nozzle (not the two that were promised, lost 2 egg). Panasonic can get it back by sending me the second nozzle, or maybe a dozen more.

5 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly Useful

Pros: Easily clears away large debris.
Great for preliminary clean.

Cons: Works too well as a squirt gun.
Hard to use as intended, especially if there are any bugs, pets or significant others around.

Other Thoughts: I especially like having this around if I have eaten recently before brushing my teeth. It really blasts away any left over bits, preventing that uncomfortable minty/food mash up that can occur.

3 out of 5 eggsPower level declines fast

Pros: Works great for a week, every time fresh batteries are put in.

Cons: Worked great first week...has steadily gone down since. Battery power really doesn't last very long. I believe it would be much more cost effective to buy an electric model.
It can also be tough to clean at times. Particles get trapped between lower and upper parts of the unit, hard to remove.

Other Thoughts: I love Panasonic products, always have. If this unit was only used a few days at a time, like for a vacation, it would be fine. If you need it for everyday use buy an electric powered machine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for what it is!

Pros: No coil tubes attached, its all one piece and not tethered to a storage tank. It accepts re-chargeables and has good pressure until the batteries begin to sag (in about 3 weeks or so). Has a small 'footprint' on the counter top. Can be disassembled enough for cleaning. The price... its ridiculously cheap!!!

Cons: Because I realize its a portable/travel irrigator, I really can't find any issues that weren't expected.

Other Thoughts: One must remember what this is... Its not a replacement for a bathroom counter-top model, it is a portable/travel 0ral irrigator and thus it should be expected there will be a balance between amount of water storage in the handle and bulkiness of the device... a trade-off between pressure and battery life. If one wants lots of endless water jetting and needle like pressures all the time, then get a counter top model and suffer with the bulkiness of a large storage unit sitting on the count top and get used to the coiled tether and having wire plug, etc. However for me, I think this unit is the perfect balance between portability and functionality. Using a good brand of rechargeables, they last me about 4 weeks between recharges (the last week I can tell the pulses are getting weaker)... if you charge more often the pressures will remain higher. It has just enough water for me to do all my teeth, uppers and lowers from both sides... but just once, which is okay by me because that's all the time I wish to spend in the morning when getting ready for work... I don't have the time to obsess. And then there's the price... at just $23 a pop it's priced less than a replacement 0ral-B brush head!!!... if I had to buy one every six months I'd do that... So far however this one has been quite reliable.

3 out of 5 eggsIt Works ...

Pros: Portable

Cons: Water pressure not very strong

Annoyingly small water tank

Other Thoughts: I bought a Cuisinart Popcorn maker a couple months ago (see review), and have been making popcorn a few times a week. I get popcorn husks caught in my gum line, that I can not get out with floss or brushing. I saw this on sale, and thought it would be perfect ...

When I first used it, I expected the water pressure to be much greater, but it is the size of the water tank that is a big disappointment. I can barely do one row of teeth per tank?!?!

I remember reading a review where the person used it in the shower ... tried it in the shower, and with the showerhead refilling it instantly, it made all the difference in the world.

The weak water pressure makes me doubt it will remove stains or plaque, but it works for what I bought it for. No more sore gums the morning after popcorn!!!

4 out of 5 eggsI like it

Pros: Just the right strength - not too strong, not too weak.
Works with rechargeable batteries, contrary to what the manual says.
Came with batteries.

Cons: No built-in rechargeable battery like my toothbrush.
Tank is too small - I need two tankfuls for a rinse. Maybe I'm just too slow.

Other Thoughts: I just talked about it with my dentist.
He said it is totally OK to use 1-3% hydrogen peroxide or standard bleach (sodium hypochlorite) diluted about 50-fold, that would be about a half teaspoon per tank. "Strong pool water" is what the strength should be. He said they had good success with patients with inflamed gums.
Do a quick rinse with water before that so that most of the chemical isn't used up reacting with saliva.
Yeah these chemicals may wear out the pump more quickly than water (Panasonic says don't do it) but at this price who cares.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: easy to use

Cons: hard to clean, "things" grow on it especially in humid climate, see other thoughts

Other Thoughts: I've been using this for about 6 years(actually owned 3 different models, one was plug-in, but it does not sell in the USA). Recommend using it with hydrogen peroxide- not only will keep your mouth sparkling clean, but keeps the device sanitised

1 out of 5 eggsIrritating my irrigation

Pros: None

Cons: I've been irrigating my orals for around 10 years, at least twice a day, and I can say without a doubt I am an expert in irrigation. Firstly, this product provides an inadequrate level of irrigation. I generally rate irrigation products on a scale of 1-100 or-al irrigators. After thorough testing, this product scored 21/100 or-al irrigators which is far below the mean of 75/100. The tests I ran included irrigating frontal orals extensively for 10 minutes to measure irrigation levels, irrigating rear orals for 10 minutes to measure irrigation levels, and doing a random sampling of or-al irrigations for 5 minutes each and measuring general satisfaction of each or-al irrigated. As an expert, I concluded that this product was well below acceptable levels on all tests. I would not recommend this product to anyone looking to seriously irrigate.
