3 out of 5 eggsIssues, Issues, Issues

Pros: Comfortable shaver; cleans itself every day for a "fresh" shave. Doesn't pull hairs like other shavers I have tried.

Cons: Loud and obnoxious while cleaning AND shaving for that matter! Also the blinking blue "meter" drives me nuts!

Other Thoughts: I have had mine just over a year (March 2011) and the cleaning system STOPPED working! Even though I bought a New Egg extended warranty for mine, they said it was still under the manufacturer's warranty, so I had to deal with Panasonic. Called Panasonic, and they said send it to us with "all the accessories" and the original packaging and they will let me know what they will do. Of course, I don't have the original packaging (who saves that for more than a year)? So, I'll be sending it off and see what Panasonic says/does.

5 out of 5 eggsPanasonic Wet/Dry Shaver

Pros: Great shaver. Does an excellent job wet or dry. Very close shave.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The 1st Panasonic Wet/Dry I had was a Panasonic Smooth Operator. Yeah it was awhile ago. It was alright but not great. Hvae used Braun and Norelco electrics but wasn't impressed with their closeness. This shaver is excellent in all areas. Normally I use it dry, but if I go a few days (like the weekend) without shaving I'l use it wet with a light layer of gel. Does a fantastic job!

The instructions say to use it daily for a month to train your beard, etc. I really think that is to train yourself. The 4 blades and the configuration of the screens take a little getting used to, but once you have used it awhile there aren't any problems.

I generally just rinse the blades and use the drying feature after each shave, but once a week I use the clean/dry setting.

Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Best shaver I've ever used to date. Dominates the cheap competition. You really can feel the difference stepping up to something of quality. Gets very close, even in uneven areas, including the neck. The trimmer is also amazing. It locks in place, and often when my hair grows out too long I'll clean everything up with the trimmer. It's powered by the same motor so doesn't snag and get's very close also! I bought this thinking being able to shave wet would be a huge advantage but this shaver is so excellent I've never even tried.

Cons: Literally none. Even the battery life is amazing!

4 out of 5 eggsNot great for Beards

Pros: Very good shave. I have a pretty tough beard and this Panasonic works better then my Braun 7570 and as close as a blade razer. Great on the neck, cheeks and large areas.

Cons: The ES-LA93-K was great on large areas like the neck but could not get around the mustache and beard. With the large head size it was impossible to get close and clean-up around the mouth and nose. I bought a Panasonic ES8103 which does a much better job. But I still use the old Braun for 10 sec. around the nose.

Other Thoughts: It seems like all the manufacturers are making bigger and bigger heads even the new Brauns.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Shaver!

Pros: Works as advertised. Really close shave.

Cons: A bit noisy but not anoyingly noisy.

Other Thoughts: If you're planning on shaving your head with this make sure that you have a separate razor to shave some parts that the Panasonic misses. I did find some burning and irritation, but I think that was due to me not being careful and pressing too hard against my skin. This is my first electric razor so I just have to get use to it.

5 out of 5 eggsBest electric shave I've ever had!

Pros: By far the best shave from an electric razor that I've ever had. This is the fourth different razor I've tried, and it shaves closer than any of them, and leaves no razor burn! The razor feels sturdy, not flimsy like many others. I also like the flexibility of both stand and travel charging.

Cons: As others have commented, the flashing beacon of light on the device is ultra-annoying.

Other Thoughts: The price was fantastic ($130 after discount and MIR)... unbeatable. I was able to get a great shave in under 10 minutes, which converts shaving from a chore to an activity.

2 out of 5 eggsIt's average

Pros: Feels nice in the hand, close shave.

Cons: Doesn't reducing shaving time compared to other models, hard to shave around the adams apple of the neck.

Other Thoughts: I heard wonderful things about this shaver through reviews and thought I would upgrade because this shaver was fast. I let my face grow days and it took around 7 min and 30 sec to shave. I went back to my old razor (braun 8000 series) about a month later and timed my shave. It took about 6 minutes. I was expecting the panasonic to mow through the hair, but you still have to rub back and forth to cut the missed hairs. Cleaning station is pointless because it's a wet/dry shaver. The instructions that come with the shaver even promote cleaning without the cleaning station. As stated above, the shave is closer, which is why I didn't give it a 1 star. Not worth the price currently. Wait til sub 100 dollars.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Shaver

Pros: Excellent Shaver, one of the best I have ever used

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Excellent Shaver, really nothing wrong with it. I bought this in addition to other Brauns and Panasonics I own. This is the best shaver I own. Great shave and really good battery life. The black looks super nice.

5 out of 5 eggsBest One Yet!

Pros: I've been using the Panasonic wet/dry shavers with 13-14,000 rpm motors since 1998, they've all been great. This is my 3rd one & they keep getting better with each one. The cleaning system is a little loud but it always makes the shaver cut & feel like new. If you rinse the hair out first you can substantially increase how long the cleaning cartridges last, like 3-6 months or more, or you can just wash the shaver with soap & water & use the stand to dry. Before I switched to the Panasonics I used to use the Norelco triple head rotary shavers & they hurt so bad, ripping & tugging the hair out. These don't have that problem unless you're trying to shave long hair, they might pull it a bit, but electric shavers of any sort really work best on short stubble, I find 24 hours or less ideal. In my experience I generally don't find that any electric shaver will work well on more than a day or 2 growth unless you use the clippers first, then it works fantastically.

Cons: The annoying blinking LED after it finishes charging. It's a really nice blue LED but not entirely sure why they think it makes sense for it to be solid while charging, then begin blinking AFTER it finishes charging. Seems a little backwards, like blinking should indicate an active cleaning or charging state, not an inactive, fully charged standby/ready state. Or it should just always be solid & use some other method, color or some smaller portion that blinks to indicate when it's actively charging, then just entirely steady or none at all when it's waiting to be used again, would make so much more sense. I don't want to have to close the bathroom door all the time or remove the thing from the charging stand to get it to quit shouting at me with that bright blinking on & off, kind of defeats the purpose of the stand, at night I can see it from the other room lighting up my bathroom every time it flashes lol...

Other Thoughts: I've never used Braun so can't really comment on how they compare except to say they seem somewhat similar, except their high end models only run at 10,000 rpm vs 14,000 rpm on this Panasonic, plus this model has a 4th shaving head, an arc shape which helps get neck hair slightly better & most of the Panasonics can be used wet or dry so Braun never ends up being a serious consideration for me whenever I replace a shaver, although I always read up on all the latest models before making my decision just in case there's something better.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Razor

Pros: Without a doubt, the best electric razor I've ever owned. I've used electric razors over the years and for the last 5 years, primarily the Braun series. This shaves unlike others in a very positive way.
Easy to clean with liquid soap and water in sink. No need to use the cartridges and water in base, as far as I can tell.

Cons: Blinking lights on razor and base when charging/charged. What were they thinking? I've located razor in closet to keep from lighting my bathroom and bedroom at night. No way, I know of to turn this off. I haven't used the cleaning part but a couple of times as it's easy to wash off in the sink with a little liquid soap and then dry. The drying time is excessive for the base, like 3 hours, really?

Other Thoughts: I've very satisfied with the performance of the razor and happy with purchase.
