1 out of 5 eggsDulls quickly, hard to sharpen

Pros: Good looking, nice bolsters for knives

Cons: They were sharp, but not very sharp, out of the box. And the dulled very quickly, even though we were careful to cut only soft materials.
Peelers were not well designed and awkward to use.

After a couple of weeks these never left the drawer.

Other Thoughts: I have an extensive shop and I can sharpen them, but most people would have trouble with this. So, you're paying for a one month experiment. Any good steel knife would be a better choice..

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Blade, Terrible Handle

Pros: Blade is great, it cuts good and clean. Performs like you'd expect a ceramic blade to

Cons: The handle is terrible. The bolster comes lower than the heel so you cannot press the blade all the way through something without using the very edge of your cutting board.

Other Thoughts: I would give this 4-5 eggs if the handle simply didn't come past the blade...

1 out of 5 eggswaste of money

Pros: Ceramic
Light
Cheap

Cons: Useless for cooking - I was trying to prepare a chuck for stew meat (cubing and removing fat) with these knives and eventually gave up and used a cheap Ikea knife which did a better job

Other Thoughts: Gimic value only. If you want to cook - get a set of good steel knives (perhaps Japanese).

3 out of 5 eggsAverage

Pros: Somewhat sharp, stays sharp longer than metal blades. If you are only cutting vegetables and using a soft cutting board, this may last a lifetime.

Cons: Can't sharpen, breaks easy, limited use due to being brittle.
Not the knife to use for self defense. These only have a 30 day warranty? They will get dull, I guess just throw away then. Not for use on glass/ceramic plates or any hard material.

Other Thoughts: I have ordered several different brands of ceramic blades. Mostly cheaper off brand, no big name which may be better quality, but cost a lot more. The black ceramic is suppose to be harder, maybe staying sharp longer? I believe there is 1 sharpener on the market for ceramic blades, hard to find, expensive. Once they make a reasonably price sharpener, sales may do better.

4 out of 5 eggsGood value overall

Pros: Ceramic knives are sharp
They come in a beautiful rubber-foam shipping case - good enough I put it into my drawer!

Cons: The potato peelers are worthless because the blades are beveled incorrectly.
If you believe the instructions, the knives are incredibly brittle and will break if used on anything other than tomatoes.
Stains easily - carrots turned them orange. However soap and water removed it all.
Cannot sharpen

Other Thoughts: I bought these as my first ceramic knives, so don't have much experience with these.

Pros: Light weight and easy to handle.

Cons: Comes with two potatoe peelers that are not necessary. Maybe add another type of knife.

2 out of 5 eggsWorst knife I've ever bought

Pros: The knife looks good and grips well in your hand. The peeler works fairly well even though it looks really cheap.

Cons: You can't chop with it, can't crush garlic cloves, don't use it to slice hard cheeses, Don't bend, pry, drop, or put it in the dishwasher. Really? What the heck are you supposed to do with it then? "Slice". The directions say it's only meant for slicing. It's a thick bladed knife and not all that sharp. If you don't slice perfectly straight down on something, it smashes or is just difficult to cut through vegetables with it. Also, the white ceramic blade seems to be susceptible to staining.

Other Thoughts: Even at $17.50, this knife and peeler set was not worth the price. If this is how all ceramic knives are, I can't see why anyone would buy them.
