1 out of 5 eggsHOT

Pros: Worked for over a year

Cons: Woke up about 4 in the morning to a burnt smell . You guessed it ,it was coming from the winix the house was full of smoke at first I didn't know it was the Winix thought I had a wire fire . Was out of warranty by a few months they would not replace it.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I had a bad one or I ran it to often ,but that is what its for to remove humidity.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns just Fine

Pros: Does everything it said it would do....

Cons: Yes it is nosey but aren't all dehumidifiers nosey...!!!...

Other Thoughts: We have had this Winix WDH751 this whole HOT summer and so far it has worked just as adverized .... The pump is working just fine and really makes it easy... I noticed that after a week it was working as hard, the reason being, it had taken a lot of the mosture out of the basement that must had been there awhile... Now just working on new mosture.... If you get one of these for under 300 you would be doing well... Good Luck...

5 out of 5 eggsWinix 50 pint

Pros: Working great so far. Pump working fine, pumping about 5 feet above unit and had pump hooked up in 10 minutes, no problem with pump hose at all. Wife loves not walking up stairs to empty bucket any more. Knocked humidty down to 40 in few hours and holding there. Controls simple and esy to use.

Cons: Not the best bucket to slide in and out

Other Thoughts: So far it is doing a good job and working fine, but only had a little over 3 weeks so time will tell, happy with it right now

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: Seem like a good price for a dehumidifier with all its features.

Cons: The first unit I got never worked because it thought the bucket was always full. I assume this was a flaw with the design of the full bucket switch. I sent the unit back, Newegg refunded me the shipping charge. I just got the second unit a day ago. It seems to work but it does not remove any moisture after several hours of operation. Hopefully the third unit works!

Other Thoughts: Don't buy it, it is now worth it!

1 out of 5 eggsWorks well in theory, but not in reality

Pros: I bought this because it has a built-in pump

Cons: The full bucket switch was faulty. It would register as full even when it wasn't. Also, the coupler for the pump hose was finicky. I got it to pump out water a couple of times, but then it would stop and not do it the next time even though I hadn't touched anything. I read and reread the manual multiple times, in addition to reinstalling the bucket and pump hose, to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong and everything was put together correctly. Despite this, I couldn't get it to work for more that a couple of hours without stopping and flashing an error message or bucket full even though it wasn't. I called the company multiple times for help and no one ever answered the phone. I left messages and did get a call back once, while I was at work, but was never able to speak to a live person. I wasted at least 10 hours of my time trying to get this thing to work. I finally decided to return it and newegg customer service was great!

Other Thoughts: If you get a faulty one, like I did, you're out of luck.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product!

Pros: * Works very well!

* Built in pump. When the bucket gets full the pump will kick on (if you set it to do so).

* Gravity drain-- you can hook up a garden hose to this thing if you want to; the adapter has a convenient holder on the inside of the unit, on the water bucket.

* Auto-shutoff when the bucket is full.

* Energy star rated!

* Very easy interface, simple instructions and minimal setup required.

* Power cord wraps inside the back of the unit.

Cons: * This thing generates heat like it was made for it (on constant mode). That wouldn't be a problem if I had air conditioning... but I don't. I was hoping that removing some of the water from the air would cool down the house a little.

* There is no display of the current humidity. Digital display only has room for 2 digits (CO, 30, 50, etc.)

* No manual pump option. You can't just hit the pump button and have it pump.

* The pump tube is coiled and quite stubborn. I might need a hair dryer or something to heat it up and straighten it out.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these for my basement which had flooded. Together these two were pulling about 40qts of water out of the air per day. They have 3 settings; comfort, manual, and constant. Comfort automatically adjusts the fan speed automatically to optimize humidity reduction and energy efficiency. Manual mode you can choose relative humidity level you want it at, between 30 and 50 I think. Constant mode does just that: constantly works at pulling the water from your air.

I haven't messed around with the timer at all because I've been running these things in constant mode since I got them, but they seem to be pretty robust machines.

Pay attention to how you empty the bucket, you must always pour to the left. I made kind of a mess on first use because I was so excited I didn't entirely read through the instructions and poured out of the right side of the bucket.

I highly recommend this just based on how well it works. It's just amazing to see that much water come from no wher

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: This unit works great. Set your humidity level and forget it or use the automatic setting @ 50%. When humidity level reaches your setting it turns off and resumes when needed. Built in pump works great to a sink. The unit is pretty quiet (mine is in the basement, so it is fine for me). This unit seems to be a sturdy, well built product. Highly recommend this one.

Cons: none
