5 out of 5 eggsspinning coffee thinggy

Pros: Wow! What a great price and excellent service from Newegg. This spinning coffee thinggy quickly organized my coffee that were laying around the kitchen into one neat, easily readable location. Now I can choose the coffee or tea I need to get my day started without roaming all over the place.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: If you have a k-cup brewer, like for instance the Breville, then get one of these and make choosing easier.

5 out of 5 eggsWow, great customer service

Pros: I purchased this as a gift and it was well received. The price was eggcellent and it does look very nice next to their Kuerig.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I purchased this as a gift. I ordered it Dec. 22 and it arrived the next day. It was damaged BUT I called and received a replacement the very next day (Dec. 24) in time for the Christmas Eve party I needed it for! Way to go customer service! Thanks Gilbert!

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Product!!!

Pros: Durable and well made. Small footprint on countertop. Base is stable and rotates very easily. Different level racks permit organization of K-cups (decaf/teas/hot chocolate/flavored/whatever) and simplify inventory management. HOLDS MY CARTRIDGE FOR COFFEE THAT I HAVE ROASTED AND GROUND TO MY SPECS SO I CAN MAKE A SINGLE CUP TO MY STANDARDS! If you have a Keurig, this is a must-buy accessory. This also makes a nice present for a friend with a Keurig that will actually be used and appreciated.

Cons: (No cons for this product.) I have been home roasting green coffee beans for 20 years now and the flavor jump is the same magnitude as going from pre-ground in the can to fresh roasted at the shop that you grind at home. Controlling the roast to optimize a bean's characteristics to match your tastes is a huge advantage. Home roasting is fun and smells fantastic. Most coffee houses discount green beans around 30% because of reduced handling. Green beans are also available on-line for less than their roasted counterparts.
(Only identifiable con) That New Egg doesn't sell a home coffee roaster (yet), because I know it would be sold at a good price with awesome service.

Other Thoughts: Many of us frequent New Egg because we build and modify our own computers. Why should our coffee be any different? An inexpensive intro to home roasting can be done with an old hot air popcorn popper (usually a dollar at garage sales.) Note: use as a coffee roaster will negate the popper for future use with popcorn, unless you like coffee flavored popcorn: ) Do this someplace where the chaff coming off the beans won't be a hassle. When learning, start with a small amount to learn and observe the various phases of the roasting process; light to crackling (chaff coming off) to medium to shine (as the oils rise to the surface) to dark to smoke (as the oils start to cook off.) You can stop the process at any point to sample your results. Different beans provide different flavors at different roasts and different roasts of the same bean can be combined for added complexity.
