It will cycle on and off around the humidity setting. There is a 1-1/2 gallon filler jug to make refilling the humidifier easier -- you take the jug to the sink, fill it, and insert into the humidifier case. The chassis has 4 casters, enabling me to roll the unit out of the closet in the winter, and roll it back in for storage. Cons: Replacement filters are pricey, both from Lasko and from Newegg. I found a less-expensive 3rd party supplier. I expect to use just one filter per year. It is not easy to see when the water level is low. There is a clever window into the water stream so you can see whether water is flowing or not, but it isn't easy to see the flow especially in dim light. This could use improvement. Other Thoughts: My house has a 2-zone HVAC; heat is forced-air gas on one side, and heat pump on the other. I wanted to add some humidity to the house, but I was not looking to maintain a precise humidity level. This unit meets my expectations. It claims it will humidify 3200 sq. ft.. I can't verify that, but it seems to work well with the 2500 sq.ft. I have. There is a sizable fan, and it is noisy, especially at the highest setting. The noise is annoying, but I'm not sure there is a reasonable alternative to humidify such a large area. Did you find this review helpful? Thanks for the valuable feedback you provided!

Other Thoughts: Our 1st lasko 1128 lasted 3 years and finally burned out. We ordered this exact same model, and love it! I only to fill it once every day and it keeps the entire house comfortable.
