2 out of 5 eggsCheap brand

Pros: Quantity and variety of knives spreads out use so they stay sharp longer?

Cons: Quality is poor. I doubt any self respecting chef would knowingly put their name on this product. Scissor handle broke after four months only using a handful if times. Guess that spray rose stems were too tough.

Other Thoughts: I have the silver handle version with the black block.

Pros: good handles

Cons: blades wont hold edge

Other Thoughts: very bad customer service there are to many other places to purchase from than to many other places to purchase other knives as i got a paula dean set and they hold an edge very good.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible product

Pros: They look nice...until they break. Sharp out of the box.

Cons: I've never had a knife snap in two until I used these Emeril knives. Absolute junk. One of the knives actually broke in the middle of the blade. Not the handle or at a joint. The "steel" snapped. I'm lucky to not have been injured. The knives are sharp when you get them but quickly become dull and will not hold an edge.

Other Thoughts: I didn't go in thinking this would be an awesome set of knives. For the price how could it be, but I did expect them to at least be somewhat serviceable. They are not. I'm actually afraid to use them now for anything harder than a banana.

5 out of 5 eggsGood knives, not "Great" but "GREAT" value

Pros: Great for the value. Nice block, very nice appearance. Steak knives are very nice. Good sturdy handles (so far).

Cons: I haven't found anything for a set at this price to complain about. I have a nicer knife or two, but when one knife is $100 (wusthof) who complains about a whole set for $25?

Other Thoughts: Thanks NewEgg!

5 out of 5 eggsNice for $25

Pros: Sharp and handsome knives, good looking wooden block. Great quality for the price.

Cons: Made in China, but isn't everything?

Other Thoughts: These are not fancy forged knives. The Emerilware ones made by Wusthof in Germany are more expensive for one single knife than this entire set, which is ridiculous. These are sharp, look good, and are full tang which prevents the dreaded broken handle syndrome that plagued my old Taiwanese cheapo stainless knives. The handles are comfy and very sturdy. Quite a great deal for the price I paid.

5 out of 5 eggsGot it for $14.99

Pros: Emeril brand knives - $24.99 with promo code and I had a $10 gift card from previous NewEgg purchase. These were once $60.

Don't care about the lawsuit - China Germany they're all the same evil power. If these last me one year I got my moneys worth.

Cons: None. Currently $24.99 with promo code. Go to target or walmart, you'll pay far more for similar or crappier knives.

Plus, when you're friends come over they'll think you're some big shot - You have Emerill brand knives. lol

Other Thoughts: They say Emeril. I used to have two knives in my house - one from Walmart that was .88 cents and a steak knife. It sucked when both were in the dishwasher ... cutting a lemon with a butter knife is no good.

2 out of 5 eggsScissors broke on first use

Pros: The knives are very sharp and work as described

Cons: The scissors broke the 1st time I used them to cut up a "fall off the bone" rotisserie chicken. They are poorly made and the handle broke at a weak spot on the 1st cut into the breast bone, no less.

Other Thoughts: I bought the set since it was indorsed by Emeril and has a lifetime warrantee. How do I get the scissors replaced?

3 out of 5 eggsYou get what you paid for

Pros: Cheap. Does what a $35-$50 knife set does.

Cons: Emeril the shef along with Martha Stewart have a lawsuit against them regarding this product. They claimed it was forged in Germany, when it was actually made in China. These just aren't quality knives they want you to think you're getting. As soon as you touch it and pick it up, you'll realize that this just isn't a high quality product.

Other Thoughts: I bought this from another source for $35. While, it isn't what they claim to be, I think it deserves a $35-$40 pricetag.
