4 out of 5 eggsLargely good, with some "buts."

Pros: Kneads dough wonderfully. Excellent piece of equipment in that aspect.

Cons: The baking system doesn't seem to always work right at higher altitudes, it also doesn't give enough time to the dough to raise when at said altitudes.

I bought this for my house up in the mountains, and man oh man does it ever bake white crusts on top of semi perfectly formed breads.

Haven't taken it to sea level to see if it bakes darker crusts or if the 2 pound loaves of bread raise to the top of the container and brown when exposed to the direct hot airflow.

I docked the egg only because I didn't see a feature for stopping the kneading or baking cycle and resuming it. The "stop" option stops the cycle and requires a restart.

Other Thoughts: To clarify, I prefer to have it prep the dough and I bake in my fancy schmancy oven. I just got tired of hurting my hands and ruining my Quake, Rage and Borderlands game being stupid and kneading by hand.

Hands are for expensive keyboards and mice, not for kneading bread. We're living in the 21'st century. Better living through technology and all that, right?

Either way, tasty bread, just takes some experimenting with personal recipes.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: *Very easy to use.
*Easy to clean.
*Comes with a nice variety of recipes. I was able to bake my first loaf of basic white bread within minutes of taking the machine out of the box!
*Versatile.

Cons: *Odd loaf size if you try to compare your homemade loafs to store-bought or handmade loafs. The loaves made by the machine are about half the length of "normal" loaves, but the loaves are thicker and more dense. I'm still adjusting to how to properly slice the bread for sandwiches. I wouldn't consider this enough of a con to lower the score of the breadmaker.

Other Thoughts: I haven't owned this for very long but I've played around with it quite a bit and really love it. I've used almost every cycle (except jam) and have used the recipes provided in the manual.

As I mentioned above, despite the fact that store-bought loaves are only one pound, the loaves made by this are smaller in length, so depending on how the bread is sliced, you may only get "half" a loaf. Keep in mind, however, that fresh bread goes bad MUCH faster than store-bought bread. We've had no problems consuming the half-loaves before they start to go stale or mold.

One minor side-note: I purchased this because I'd been buying very expensive organic bread and thought I'd save money by making my own. Sadly, I only save like 50 cents a loaf. BUT nothing compares to fresh bread (best air freshener ever), and this machine is so easy to use that it's almost as convenient as buying bread.

5 out of 5 eggsBest DEAL

Pros: Works as advertised. I managed to make great whole wheat bread with 2 year old flour I had lying around.
Its twenty bucks cheaper than elsewhere. It has a metal paddle and they give you an extra one also. Its the best model at this price point, even at the 65 dollars you find it for elsewhere. Works as advertised.

Cons: None so far, I only just got it today and made my first loaf and it was great

Other Thoughts: none
