Blade is integrated into pitcher to help avoid cuts and leaks. Chops ice and other frozen things really well in "ice" mode. Easy to clean (inside and out). Buttons are covered by a single cover making cleanup even easier. It's dishwasher safe, but it cleans easily with some water, a couple drops of soap, and the "mix/stir" mode if you want to spare it from the high heat of the dishwasher.
