4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: Works well, cools my master bedrom pretty quickly, has remote control and LCD display, has adjustable window mount, build quality seams good, plugs into regular outlet, it is portable.

Cons: It's pretty loud but not unbearable and not any louder than any other portable or mounted A/C I had experince with.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Big, Hefty with remote and windows kit

Cons: Unit was dead on arrival
Unit is a pain to get replaced plus no return policy from newegg doesn't help.
Without a expensive unit for over 2 weeks now.
Must dispose of the defective unit myself.
Window kit does network well with builder grade windows. Doesn't fit correctly and seems to need some modification to work as needed.

Other Thoughts: Brought this unit form my upstairs Office / Server room and after letting the unit settle for 24 hours as recommended by Haier, the unit displayed a E22 error after plugging it in. Not a good start with a expensive A/C unit such as this. Also the window kit does not fit correctly with builder grade windows.

The final nail is the coffin is the Newegg's return policy on this.. Box had not damage yet didn't find out about unit being defective till it was opened. Newegg's policy is they wont refund it unless its refused at delivery, leaving you stuck with a defective unit with no option for exchange or return.

Haier customer service was good about replaceing the unit but does require you to jump thru some hoops. Not the best buying experience I have had. And even worse the unit I brought was discontinued by Newegg 2 days after.

4 out of 5 eggsCools Me Off

Pros: I love this A/C. It's only as loud as any other wall-unit I've had, though it vibrates the floor a lot more when the A/C is running. Haven't tested the heater or dehumidifier, but the vibrating and loudness is gone when it's just the fan.

It's going to go through a California torture test soon, but so far it's performed excellently. I just hope it keeps it up for a few years.

Cons: Vibrates the floor, Newegg doesn't give it any extra padding (and the box is only closed with two plastic straps, which come off during shipping - if you're lucky, one barely stays on and manages to get it to you with no accessories missing), and there's no "This End Up" marker on the box, so the 1d10ts at UPS and Fedex will just flip it end over end, instead of carrying it. Jerks.

Other Thoughts: I wish Newegg would package this thing in another box, or use tape, or giant zipties, or something. It had scratches all over it from the remote and other pieces flying all over the place in the box. Blah.

5 out of 5 eggsA cooling beast, works well.

Pros: This thing cools like a beast! Somewhat loud but all portable ones are. The unit lets you install in places you'd otherwise not be able to cool. Dual hoses means no air exchange from cooled area. This is a full ton of cooling where and when you need it.

Cons: All portable units are loud. The hoses are very stiff but are somewhat sturdy. Not nearly as portable as you'd think but this is a 150# chunk of machinery. Probably should buy different tubes to allow some flexability. You do need to drain the water tank on occasion. Believe the instructions about needing its own 15 amp circuit.

Other Thoughts: Was a refurb on Woot for $295.

Pros: Look is great.

Cons: Does not cool 450 Sqft room at all. Temp does not go below 80F if outside is 87F. Blows hot air inside the room where went line meets the unit.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent additional cooling for data room

Pros: Have had this unit running for two weeks non stop on the highest cooling and has been an absolute life saver. The current air conditioning in the space only had the data room at 85 degrees which was not only bad for the servers but made it next to impossible to work in there for long periods due to those loud 1u and 2u server fans.

Cons: Should have purchased the higher BTU unit but this is fine for 10 servers and UPSs and misc networking equipment.

Other Thoughts: Since this room has air conditioning already there was no issue with high levels of humidity to remove (which could cause the unit to shut off). Installation is easy enough I would imagine for most normal consumers, but in my case I had to do some creative engineering to vent the heat as there were no windows. So if you don't have a standard installation be ready to get more parts from your hardware store and put some power tools to work.
