4 out of 5 eggsMine Works Well

Pros: I was expecting to receive the product with some sort of defects or big cosmetic flaws having read all the negative customer reviews since it is a refurbished item but me being frugal decided to take the chance of buying it with extended warranty just in case something has gone wrong since newegg warranty only cover 30 days. All my apprehensions were proven wrong. I receive my order right on time as promised, it was easy to install, although with some cosmetic issues but nothing major and noticeable, now I'm enjoying the cool breeze it blows. Taking that calculated risk has paid off. So far I'm happy with this purchase.

Cons: Price is reasonable but after 5 days of purchase Newegg has dropped the price lower for another $ 60 on top of $ 30 rebate. Wish I waited few more days prior to buying the unit

Other Thoughts: Awesome price, value for the money and a great buy sometimes it's worth taking calculated risk of purchasing refurbished product but only with a back up plan just in case something didn't turn out as expected

4 out of 5 eggsBuy Warranty

Pros: Blows very cold air
Great deal with rebate

Cons: Short exhaust hose (5')
Single hose design (air pumped out hose, is replaced by hot humid air elsewhere)
Heavy (80lbs)
Looks refurbished (but not abused)

Other Thoughts: I never buy an Extended Warranty, but based on the low Egg rating, thought it might come in handy. Especially since it is March, and its 30 Day Warranty will have expired by the time I start using it.

Everything works fine on mine, and not much louder than my In-Wall AC's, but it does have a very large crack in the bottom panel. I 'assume' it is only cosmetic, since it clearly happened before it was shipped. I have been running it as a Dehumidifier to see if it leaks, but being earlier Spring, it is not humid enough to know if it is a leaker yet?

It is a shame it does not come with a longer exhaust hose. The hose is collapsible. So, if you did not need the extra length, don't extend it ... but if you do, you have it. The short hose, limits where you can put it. A few extra feet of hose would have cost $.25?!?!

2 out of 5 eggsNot Factory Refurb

Pros: It does work.

Cons: Smelled kind of musty/moldy, like it was bundled up with water in the pan. The unit looked like it was heavily used. Many scratches on different spots of the body and on the remote. Overall bery beat up looking. Compressor is very loud. Exhaust panels were scratched and had screw marks from previous use.

Other Thoughts: Most refurbs look like new or near new, this was not even close. Worse looking refurb I have ever bought. Concerned how long it will last.

4 out of 5 eggsLowers Ambient Room Temp

Pros: Great price(got mine on a Shell Shocker deal on top of a regular sale so below two bills with tax), Portable, Decent volume of cold air output 31.8F measured at vent output w/ IR Thermometer(it does cycle the cooling on and off), Remote control included(not the batteries though), Not obnoxiously large, Back-lit operation display I really would give it 4.5 egg rating but can't

Cons: A bit on the noisy side but to be expected on this type of unit, Reading about the problems other people have had.

Other Thoughts: For me it's working out great and was purchased as a temporary quick fix while the 2.5 ton heat pump packaged unit that died gets replaced. It's being used in a 300sq ft rehearsal studio which would be unusably hot otherwise.
It's capacity is just barely able to cut it but it is very undersized. Have had zero problems with leaks or shutting down, picked it up at will call so no shipping or packaging problems(shipping was free but DIY'd it instead). Worked perfect right out of the box and also the one I got looked brand new without a mark or sign of wear and tear on the unit or remote control. Running the exhaust duct was a little bit of a hassle but not a problem because the place has no windows and is dual wall construction for soundproofing. If I could get a identical one at the same price I paid I would. When the regular A/C unit is replaced this unit is going to somehow become the CPU cooler that beats them all hands down that's system heat check and mate I tellz ya'.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat deal, for a few minutes

Pros: Acceptable noise levels at all fan/cooling settings. Cooling output was excellent, exceeded my expectations. Visually appealing, the exterior of unit was free from any signs of being refurbished.

Cons: Product is not packaged properly by manufacturer, and as shipped it can not be for any purpose other than a fan. To use in AC mode it needs an external catch basin or to be placed in Tub/Shower/or large sink where excess water will not cause damage.

Other Thoughts: After operating unit on A/C for a few minutes water was visible coming from underneath. Water leaks from a bad seam design but could easily be repaired for a few bucks with some quality epoxy. If you are the slightest bit handy this unit is a great deal. I strongly discourage trying to return/exchange because of this issue, the process is lengthy and after 2 attempts and more than a month the replacement unit(s) had same issue. 5 min and $5 for epoxy, I have an A/C at an excellent price

5 out of 5 eggsCouldn't be happier

Pros: Heavy, solid build. Compact size. Great sound. Awesome deal.

Cons: Not really a con, but larger than expected.

Other Thoughts: Waited for a deal on these speakers and it was worth the wait. Perfect for an apartment; clear sound with enough base to not be annoying. A top quality brand at a no name price.

1 out of 5 eggsFan broken

Pros: Produce cool air. Relatively cheap comparing to the $8000 central unit.

Cons: I purchased two units due to the good price and previous good previews. Both of them are pretty loud. One of the unit suddently made very loud noise and spit fan shards out the back when it was used for third time. Too bad, it is 60th day after ordering it. The second unit is still doing its job. Hopefully I haven't wasted nearly $600 on these Haier craps. Will not buy any Haier products anymore.
