Pros: Good a/c at a good price. Cools fairly well. It's good not to have to empty a bucket every few hours. Haven't had to drain it after 2 months of constant use. Looks new.

Cons: The room temperature readout is not accurate. If the room feels cool then that doesn't matter.

Other Thoughts: Good deal, but if it was around $150 I would've bought two.

Pros: After reading the reviews here, I was slightly worried about buying a refurbished unit, but I'm glad that I did.
The unit arrived clean, and looking brand new - complete with all the original packaging materials. The only indication anywhere that it's refurbished is a little sticker on the back - otherwise, I never would have guessed.
It works well - having taken my home office from near-sauna levels (100 degrees F or higher, and very humid) to about 77, and much more comfortable. It even manages to cool my bedroom down the hall a bit, just by opening up the doors.
Installation was easy, and I had it up and running within minutes.
Despite the major humidity, I haven't had to drain it at all, even with near-constant running during the daytime hours. This is a major plus.

Cons: This thing is heavy. Trying to haul it up a flight of stairs by myself was a real ordeal, but I did manage.
The window kit isn't airtight. I definitely need to sit down and figure out some way to insulate the cracks along the edges, but it doesn't seem to make that much of a difference.
It could just be my unit, but when it reaches the set temperature, it doesn't shut off. It doesn't get any colder, but it continues to run constantly.
It's not all that quiet, but really, it's not any louder than running a cheap box fan, either.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I'm glad I decided to purchase this unit.
It's made my office workable without making the rest of the house cold.
I'm a bit worried about my electric bill with this running all the time, but other than that, I love it, and believe it was worth every cent.

Pros: No more noise then a window unit. Cools room. Easy set-up. No worry about getting something heavy to fit in a window.

Cons: At around 60% humidity it will produce about a gallon of water in an hour and a half. If unit is suppose to evaporate that moisture...it is not working. After 2 days use the carpet was soaked from the excess water. Built a 4 inch pedestal for it so I can drain water into a large pan via a tube installed over drain valve.

Other Thoughts: Don't get me wrong...it is capable of cooling a room. Just people need to know they will need a way to get rid of the excess water it takes out of the air.
It boasts of a de-humidifier function.
It's a wasted function because ALL refrigerated ACs ARE dehumidifiers.
Would be much better to have a heat function instead of the dehumidify function.

Pros: Almost $70.00 less than retail. The 3 speed fan is perfect for small rooms, crank it to high to cool down quick, and to low when it's time for TV or sleep. Absolutely no complaints.

Cons: I'm still getting used to the fold out vent, I wish it was more flush and didn't close completely. Seems like to much of a strain on the fan when it's all the way closed, makes no sense. But, I like it anyway.

Pros: working.

Cons: Not in original box. Plastic Cover was broken and not clean.

Pros: Does exactly as it is supposed to do with a modern design at a terrific price! Easy installation and operation.

Cons: Heavy but no heavier than expected.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is wonderful, fast shipping and this refurbished item looks and performs like brand new!

Pros: the unit came quickly to my home.

Cons: When the Box was delivered it was upside down, Not the UPS drivers fault as the sticker was on the bottom for delivery. Not even an Arrow pointing which way it should be facing. You shouldn't ever have these units upside down because of the inside contents.

Upon inspecting the refurbished unit I found scratch marks all over the portable air conditioner and tons of fingerprints big smudge markings. On the bottom one of the wheels I kid you not had used bubblegum all over the wheel. On the bottom side some kind of brown smudge markings, really? On the window panel they give you had sticky old tape with grey markings all over it.

The system when I put it on was at 77 degrees. I waited literally almost an hour for it to go to 76, all the while 77 a few times went up to 78. 1 hour later I am at 74. This is taking forever to cool down my room. My room size is only around 100 sq feet. half the size it claims it can handle.

Through all of this It seems the refurbish inspector did not do their jobs at all! The unit is an eye sore in my apartment because of all the scrapes etc. I have bought off of newegg quite a few times and never had this issue ever, usually everything is in top condition even refurbished.

I would say stay away from purchasing this unit because they have sold a few thousand of these already on newegg meaning your probably going to get a unit thats been sent back a few times by now or a unit that has some issues. Note to self: never buy a refurbished unit after way to many have been sold.

1 hour and a half later, the unit went to 75 degrees. This unit is no good.

Pros: Small, portable, cool, and efficient.

Other Thoughts: This is a nice portable AC. It only weighs 65 pounds. I got this for my daughters bedroom. She loves it. Makes the room feel like a refrigerator on the lowest setting. This will help my little one sleep comfortably at night. I really like this unit.

Pros: Portable, with wheels, to change rooms easily as needed.
Full control remote.
Won't damage my windows like my window mounted AC did from it's weight.
Lower price for being refurbished.

Cons: Window attachment is is just poor quality. (design & convenience)
Doesn't cool a room half the size it claims.
Takes up quite a bit of space when using as an AC for the vent hose.

Other Thoughts: Cons are possibly all base by case:
The PVC windows attachment doesn't really fit my older windows so had to jury-rig it to vent.
The connection from the vent hose to the window barrier itself is useless, the hose is too heavy for the little tabs on the hose end. You're stuck with only one vent location to really set up the windows barrier. (left side, which was a bad position in my room)
And it doesn't really cool my room much, despite it being half the size it claims. Now it could be how I had to set it up to vent, or the quality of coolant, if it was previously owned, installed/remaining.

Pros: easy set up room cooled down within minutes

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: came packaged like new, if it was refurbished couldnt even tell easy self instructions re: set up
