5 out of 5 eggsFast, healthy, cheap popcorn

Pros: This hotair popper requires no oil, butter, greases, nor anything else. Simply pour the kernels (around 1/4 cup) into the chute and plug the popper. It takes around a minute to reach the temperature for popping, and around 30 seconds to finish. No butter means no mess (and no cholesterol), and the thing never needs cleaning. Once it cools down, it's ready for storage. Moreover, buying the kernels is far cheaper than buying microwavable packets. Because it is a simple mechanism (fan + heater), it is quite resilient. The general assembly feels sturdy, including the cable.

Cons: It is rather noisy, like an average hair dryer. And because it uses hot air, the bowl used to collect the popcorn can get hot: avoid metal bowls, use plastic / ceramic if possible.

Other Thoughts: It can pop ALL the kernels, but it is tricky. A couple of runs and one learns to tilt the unit slightly back, then forward, to keep kernels inside the chute and thus pop them without burning them. Leaving the unit unattended can yield very different outcomes depending on the amount of kernels in the chute: too many, and they stick and burn. Too few, and the fly all over the place.

4 out of 5 eggsPops Excellent

Pros: Pops my popcorn quickly and excellently - very few unpopped kernels, no burnt kernels.

The kernels pop to be bigger than how they would be made on the stove. Tastes delicious!

Cons: The lid/cover is horrible. The plastic gets very soft after each use, which is really disconcerting.

You're supposed to use the little lid cover for butter, but it can't melt the butter in the time it pops the popcorn. When it does, it's delicious, but I'd rather melt the butter on the stove so I can mix it into the popcorn as it's popping. I wish they hadn't included this feature so they could have made the cover from something that wouldn't soften/get so hot.

Other Thoughts: I've seen people complain online about how it spits out unpopped kernels. It spits out maybe 10 per sitting, that's probably something like 5% or less. Considering how much I waste when I try to cook popcorn on the stove? It's a massive improvement. The corn tastes better than on the stove, pops bigger, and is healthier (so long as you don't slather it in too much butter).

Doesn't have a switch, as noted in other reviews. Kind of sucks, but oh well. At least it's not a fire-hazard when not in use.

2 out of 5 eggsDied in 18 mos

Pros: Popped okay for a year and a half. Low fat - no oil. Popped corn came out okay.

Cons: Died after 18 mos of light use.

Other Thoughts: Still blows cold air. Doesn't pop corn.

5 out of 5 eggsDo it yourself Popcorn

Pros: Pops up fast but use a BIG Bowl to catch it!

Cons: Cord is a bit short. would be nice if it was a 6 foot with a switch on it.... Time to go to Home Depot!

Other Thoughts: Get your favorite popcorn seasoning and use a butter flavored Spray like Crisco or Pam to spray your popcorn after its popped then dust with seasoning, shake the bowl a bit and respray and dust. Using a liquid spray butter makes the popcorn a bit soggy. Still White Chedar cheese is GREAT!! Throw on a VERY light dusting of garlic powder for a great taste.

1 out of 5 eggsFAIL

Pros: Popcorn.

Cons: Popper blew smoke and quit after 3 months. Newegg did a great disservice by not taking care of this problem.

Other Thoughts: If you eat popcorn once a year, than this unit is for you. If your a normal person who enjoys popcorn once or more a month...THIS UNIT IS NOT FOR YOU

5 out of 5 eggsDoes a great job.

Pros: No oil needed. Best solution for low calorie munchies. Pops all but a few % of kernels each time for me. Pops within a very short time. Does what I need it to do.

Free Shipping.

Cons: Not a Con, Just a warning; This is NOT an industrial unit so let the cover cool a minute before your next batch of popcorn. Seems to soften the cover slightly by the end of the run. Cover appears somewhat thin. Not sure if it will withstand the heat over the years. Time will tell.

Other Thoughts: This turned out to be a great solution for our evening munchies when watching movies. We used to eat corn chips and salsa, but the cost of a single bag of chips is getting stupid and the quantity per bag is getting smaller and smaller. Other reviewer rambled about how unit traveled across counter. There's only two rubber feet on this unit so it does try to travel. I just stand there holding the bowl and base of the unit since it doesn't take long for the kernels to pop. I'll add two rubber feet to the unit later on, but it’s an easy fix for most people. Make sure you use fresh kernels. Stale kernels will not pop as well due to the lack of moisture. No need for power switch on unit (added cost). Plug it in, pop and then unplug. Be sure to fill with specified amount of kernels for unit to function correctly, else kernels will fly out before popping fully. Some people tend to complain about trivial things. If you think you can build a better unit and sell it for same or

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what its supposed to do

Pros: Works fine for a popper
A little butter and salt and you have a tasty treat

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Some kernels get stuck in the bottom and I have to empty it after use, wish it could pop them all.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat popper

Pros: - Fast popping.
- Generates a low amount of unpopped kernels (about 10-12 per cup, probably depend on kernel quality tho)
- Popcorns dont explode all across the room: they steadily exit the machine and fall out smoothly.

Cons: - As other users pointed out: no ON-OFF switch
- The nosle is bigger than expected, making it less convenient to store in small kitchens.

Other Thoughts: - Simple and efficient design: looks cheap but isnt.
- I previously owned an air-popper and the Pop-Lite is alot better.
- Would buy again.
