HOOVER S3865 Platinum Cyclonic Bagless Canister Silver

Pros: No bags to change. Great suction and easy to control suction level. The extendable wand is so easy to extend and retract as needed. Very good design and construction overall, feels solid. Retractable cord is also a neat feature.

Cons: None so far. I can't think of anything I would change.

Other Thoughts: I just moved into a new apartment, so after doing my research I decided to ordered this vaccum. It came just in time and it made cleaning my apartment so much easier. I love it. I have only used it on hardwood and laminate flooring. I can't comment on how it handles carpeting.

Pros: standard 3 yr. warranty. no bags or filters to buy to add to overall cost. handle extends without adding parts.

Cons: not as good as kenmore canister or kenmore progressive bagless upright for suction and dirt removal.

Other Thoughts: have been a huge sears(kenmore) fan for almost 40 yrs. my grandmother used kenmore vacuum cleaner and electrolux canisters. bought almost exclusively sear products(stoves, fridges, freezers, microwaves, ect.) products last for 15 to 25 years with no or little repair. some where in the last serveral year, quality has taken a nose dive . when my next to last kenmore canister died only after 8 years, i didn't give it much thought, having been wanting to try the kenmore upright w/dirt sensor. the sales rep at sears tried to sell me an extended warranty, but i KNEW it was a waste of money and declined. not taking into account that they had first hand knowledge on the quality of their product more so than i, and that more than likely the vacuum would need servicing soon after the original warranty expired. it lasted only 1 1/2 yrs. hoover backs their vacuums (higher end) with a standard 3 yr. warranty. if i had it to do over, i would buy kenmore's high end vac w/ entended warranty
