Steren is the leading electronics wholesale supplier, encompassing all voice, video, and data connectivity needs. We offer a huge variety of components and accessories for distribution, including electronic test equipment for spotting malfunctions and getting them fixed. We offer digital multi-meters (a type of electronic test meter) for checking voltage and identifying shorts in a computer. Among our are various cutting and stripping blades in addition to crimp tools for DIY fix-it jobs and re-wiring. Our continuity tester enables people to check the connection between the wires in their computer and other electronic equipment. A network cable tester is very handy for businesses. This electronics meter provides an Internet connection diagnosis, which can help users figure out if their Internet connection or cable is faulty, or if it is a different problem altogether. Our selection of electronics meters is unbeatable.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of JUNK

Pros: Cheap. Compact size.

Cons: Stopped working completely (except the continuity tester beep) approx 2 months after warranty ended. So it showed incorrect voltages for about 14 months. And then it stopped working. Powers on but no voltages displayed.

Other Thoughts: It seemed to work ok. Displaying voltages and ohms from different electronic devices. However, after comparing this multi-meter to my fathers Craftsman meter, I have found that the voltages were off by as much as 3-5v. That's terrible. And then it stopped working 2 months after the 1 year warranty ended. And I babied this thing. Never dropped it. Never rough with it. Always kept it in the provided case. DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK. Save your money and buy a quality meter. Yea it might cost twice as much as this one. But you probably wont be replacing it every year. Like with this JUNKER.

3 out of 5 eggsI agree with Erich B.

Pros: It's pretty, and it works fairly well. Definitely a step up over my 15-year-old analog VOM.

Cons: Unfortunately, I only got to use it about 5 times total. As Erich B. mentioned, the battery is not something you can just run to the store and buy (around here, anyway), and the meter doesn't have any kind of automatic shutoff. So if you set it down and forget to turn it off like I did, it will most likely be dead the next time you need to use it.

Other Thoughts: Either stock up on 23A 12-volt batteries, or just NEVER forget to turn it off when you're done with it. I'm knocking one egg off for the hard-to-find battery, and another for the lack of an automatic shutoff. But a less forgetful person than myself may never have a problem!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bargain - gets the job done

Pros: I simply needed a quick and dirty continuity tester and this did that and other multimeter functions quite nicely.

Cons: Well, this is more my fault but I left it on one time and it ran the battery right down to nothing. The battery isn't exactly standard but ordering them online was easy enough. It would be nice if the device automatically shut off after a certain period of inactivity?

5 out of 5 eggsVery useful

Pros: Simple multimeter for my occasional in house use. Precise readings. Large letters / numbers in the display. Battery seems to last forever.

Cons: None. Probably not suitable for professional everyday use.

Other Thoughts: Used in home environment.
