Pros: Handsome looking. Very capable at removing moisture. Relatively quiet (compared to other brands). Easy to empty, and has garden hose connection.
Cons: Stopped working after 8 months. Fan runs most of the time, even when the compressor is not running. This might be how it allows cool weather operation, I'm not sure.
Other Thoughts: I got rid of my 25 year old Sears dehumidifier. It still worked, but it was noisy and wasn't designed to be used in cool weather. After I had 2 Whirlpool dehumidifiers die after about 18 months each, I bought this Frigidaire. Loved it. Quite a bit quieter and easier to empty. But it just stopped working after 8 months. Called 2 authorized Frigidaire repair shops to get one to even come out and look at it. Verdict was it was not repairable. Either the compressor died or it leaked all its Freon. Since I bought it mail order, I have to send my invoice and the serial number sticker to Frigidaire. They promise to send me a check, minus the $10 shipping fee that newegg used to charge.
I wish I still had my old Sears dehumidifier.

Rating: 5/5Great purchase - highly recommend
Pros: I spent a lot of time reviewing De-Humidifiers and I'm glad I did. I really like this unit.
This unit only turns on when it reaches the humidity that you set (to keep humidity level at the level you want automatically). Many other manufacturers have the fan continually running = power consumption.
Easy removal of water basin and has a splash guard over the top so easy to bring to sink/drain.
Cons: The vent is on the right side (viewing it from the front). This works out perfectly for my location, but may be a problem for others.

Pros: It works well. It seems well built and has some really nice features. I like that it reminds you to clean the filter every 200 hours. The bucket is easy to remove and empty.
Cons: It's a bit loud, definitely louder than the fridge... I think wanting it to be super quiet is unreasonable considering the thing is really just a compressor strapped to a fan.
Other Thoughts: I made a video of it running if you want to check out the noise...

Pros: Workmanship!!! - this thing is well built. Handle on the top, on rolling casters - just look at the water bin - well thought. The fan is also fairly quiet. I took a chance on this buying it on-line vs. going to a big box store. In case you are wondering, the unit I replaced was from a big box store and cost more that this one did.
Cons: Nothing yet.
Other Thoughts: I never fill out product registration cards, but I am doing it for this unit because I have a feeling I'll have this for a long time

Rating: 4/5Great little humidifier
Pros: Easy to use, easy to remove cleanable filter, and easy to use water bucket. It works just like it should, has been reliable and made my basement a much drier place
Cons: Need to definately get a hose for constant drain, it requires emptying 2 times a day. Other than that it works great. Over time the buttons on the front might become difficult to operate, but not a problem so far.
Other Thoughts: I like this humidifier and would buy it again.

Rating: 4/5Does the job, but ...
Pros: Works well - quickly removes a lot of water from the air. I bought this from NewEgg a couple weeks ago to reduce the humidity level in my finished basement. I would have bought the 70 pint model if one was in stock but having used this for a bit I'm happy I didn't - this one does the job and the bigger model has the same capacity reservoir. As it is, I empty the reservoir twice a day on low fan speed when it's humid. On high speed it ends up shutting itself off before I can empty the bucket. The water reservoir has a handle on top and is easy to empty.
Inoffensive looks - Because this is relatively large (and noisy!) it's probably not the sort of thing that will blend seamlessly into your room. However, it looks pretty good for a big white box.
Easy to move around - not a big deal for me since there are only a couple places in the room for me to put this and I don't need to move it. In the winter when I don't need it I'll wheel it into a closet.
Cons: Side air discharge limits placement
Water reservoir small given removal capacity
Irritatingly noisy. This is my biggest disappointment with this unit. While I can accept the fan noise I find the higher-frequency compressor buzz to be very irritating. Maybe my hearing is better than many because I can clearly hear the compressor buzzing away on the first floor (it's open to the basement). I can also hear it from my 2nd floor bedroom at night when things are quiet. There's no way I'd want it in my main living area. The basement is mostly used by my kids for playing with toys and video games. When they watch a movie the unit is shut off. I have two large refrigerators, one bar fridge, a chest freezer and a new 12k BTU window A/C in my loft. This is far noisier than the refrigerators and about the same as the window shaker. A significant amount of the buzz comes from the bottom of the unit so if you can place it on carpet away from a corner (I can't) it won't be nearly as irritating
Other Thoughts: I measured the noise level to be 53-54 dBA on low speed and about 57 dBA on high speed. To put this into perspective, my clothes dryer when running empty is 58 dB (A-weighed @ 1m). My refrigerators are at most in the low 40's and blend into surrounding sounds making them hard to measure. I'll be pulling this apart to insulate the compressor, but that's me ... If you're looking for something to use in your main living area and noise bothers you you might want to look at a different model.
The water reservoir size is a decent compromise. It's small relative to the removal capacity of the unit but if it was much bigger many would find it too heavy and awkward to empty. If you have a nearby floor drain that you can use you will very quickly connect a hose to the unit. Too bad the drain hose connection is on the side instead of the back - there's no way this can look good in a finished space with a hose sticking out the side.
This is perfect to dry out an unfinished basement
