5 out of 5 eggsIt's been a good investment

Pros: It has worked to get miles of cable terminated, the blade is still on the factory installed one, it's been dropped a few times and has held up like steel with no cracks or chips -still working great!

Cons: none. ( case is lame though cheap hinges - Lowes tool box to the replacement ! lol )

4 out of 5 eggsBeginner/Home Kit

Pros: Inexpensive kit that is very useful. The big plus here is that it's cheap.

Cons: The case is pathetic: the plastic clips look ready to break, as does the seam-hinge. The molded insert is plastic (not the advertised foam) - this isn't a deal breaker. The tools themselves aren't fit for extended use, and require a good bit of user finesse.

Other Thoughts: It's a nice little kit, good for a beginner but solid enough for limited field use.

Pros: Great little tool. Nice case. Easy crimp

Cons: wish case had more storage compartments. This case only has one.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but could be better

Pros: Nice little tool. Great for a beginner

Cons: The punch down tool is non-impact. The crimping tool takes a lot of force to crimp the cables. The stripper is SUPER sharp. I had to be careful. One turn sometimes cut some of the wires.

Other Thoughts: I like it BUT the plastic parts are not comfortable. I think the price should be lower than what it is.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product for Me

Pros: Works just as it should and suits my needs perfectly for the price. I got this to wire my house with cat6 and it is working like a charm.

Cons: They feel cheep to the touch. I did not dock an egg for this cause I had a feeling they would when I bought them. I don't plan on using them very often so it works great!

Other Thoughts: The case is useful but the tools are held in by very thin plastic. I just removed the plastic so I can store the cable tester I got as well as all the little fittings and such for network related projects.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Exactly As Pictured

Pros: Good *basic* starter kit for someone interested in learning on how to crimp their own cat5 or cat3 cables. Comes with brief diagram and color chart on how to crimp cables for 568a/568b standards. Comes with RJ45 + RJ11 Crimper that is a plus. Comes with Punchdown Tool, Stripper, and 10 RJ45 connectors. I bought it for just extra tools that i could keep inside my personal car.

Cons: Not As Pictured OR Described --- It is actually a "DataShark" Tool Kit. (Division Of Paladin Tools) --- Does not come with nice foam insert to keep tools in a snug fit into case. Comes with a really cheap plastic insert so tools can bounce around a bit. The case is a simple case, but can already see where the plastic on the case is becoming stressed at the locking latches from opening and closing it the few times i have used them. The punchdown tool pictured is a tool with a replaceable blade, but the one that comes with the kit is a fitted blade that cannot be replaced.

Other Thoughts: Great kit for someone who would like to learn how to crimp there own cables and such. You get what you pay for.
I have contacted NewEgg to see if they could get me the foam inserts, or if i did receive the correct kit or not because what is pictured is different then what you get. ( Not the exact tools pictured, or the same layout in the case ) They were very Helpful in giving me the manufactures phone number (1-800-272-8665), and web address. I have contacted the manufacture on these issues, and have not received an E-MAIL or phone call back. For a cheap kit, it is not worth the time/money to send back. I recommend spending a little extra money for a nicer kit. I would rather send this back and get $42.00 credit to get a $100.00+ kit. Worth it to me in my eyes
