4 out of 5 eggsI've enjoyed it....

Pros: Works very well, I especially enjoyed it during the summer instead of heating up the oven. Personally I use mine mostly for chicken, as I *love* nice crispy chicken skin (yes, I know, it's not in fashion). It is also FABulous for re-heating pizza!

Cons: After approx a year of fairly regular use (1 to 3 times a week, usually for 40 - 50 minute cooking sessions), the fan is starting to hum fairly loudly, and there is clearing a rub heard when I turn the unit off. I will probably not use it much longer, as I am not convinced the safety features of this unit are sufficient to deal with a non-operational fan.

I concur with another review mentioning the controls. They are HORRID. Turning the knob to adjust time and then temp is a tricky process, since turning it one direction only makes the numbers go both directions. I usually turn it backwards for time, since I cook about 40 minutes, and it often goes up to 5 minutes before going backwards to 58 minutes like I intend. Cooking temp does the same when I move to that function. And since the knob is also the start button, it's cringe and hope that pressing it doesn't tweak the temperature in the same moment.

So - yes, the controls on this thing are awful.

Other Thoughts: Sadly, I was hoping to purchase another unit, since I don't really trust mine anymore. I would like it to have lasted longer, but given the quality issues in the controls, I think I'm lucky it lasted as long as it did. Speaking as an engineer, I have to say there's such a thing as over-engineering, and things just don't last anymore.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It cooks better than a microwave or a toaster oven in most cases.
It produces much less smoke than a conventional oven during cooking.

Cons: It does not cook any faster than a conventional oven with "broil" function.
The Polycarbonate Dome with the Powerhead attached is top heavy and can tip over easily, the Dome also detached and fallen off easily when getting hot.
The unit is rated 1200 Watts but comes with an electrical cord without ground wire which is somewhat unsafe.

Other Thoughts: Mine came with a lot of hard to clean dirts or glue aound the label area which make me wonder what kind of qulaity control they have when building this thing.
This appliance does not have any safety features build in. Not for family with small children or large pets, it can be dangerous.
Don't plug in the same electrical outlet with your Quad Sli or Crossfire jig !

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work

Pros: I read the reviews, and I wanted to love this thing as it's the "Flavorwave" oven. Same identical machine but with a different name.

Cons: But..... the first one I got from New Egg didn't work outta the box, so's they sent another one within a couple days. Great....Not really, 2nd machine turned on than shut itself off after about 10 mins. of cooking, never turning on again. I think the temp knob/start button on these things are faulty. Anyway I sent it back and New Egg gave me my $ back. I really wanted to use it as it looks great from the infomercials and everybody's giving it rave reviews. But maybe I just got 2 bad ones, but I wasn't going to deal with shipping a 3rd one back. New Egg handled the returns like true professionals as always.

5 out of 5 eggsMorningware Halogen Oven

Pros: This unit occupies roughly the same space as a regular toaster oven, yet can handle up to a medium sized turkey or a large roast. Glass container allows 360 view of food, and breaks down for easy dishwasher cleaning. Great for quick meals and for singles. Cooks frozen entres direct from freezer 30% faster than regular oven. Great product!

Cons: Operationally, I haven't found any problems yet. Temp control is incremented in 15 deg steps, making precise settings a bit harder, but hardly makes a difference since the cooking time is less anyway.

Other Thoughts: Ordered mine with a $20 rebate. The box it came in was not the standard retail box so it didn't have the right UPC code label on it. Had to contact Morningware to get OK to use other label, and include some extra stuff to provide proof of purchase for the rebate. I think this was a warehouse screwup, but still a pain in the neck.

5 out of 5 eggsEggcellent oven!

Pros: Cooked 2 large pork steaks to perfection in 18 minutes. We've got some more cooking as I type. Beats the pants off the George Foreman grill. I'm looking forward to many other Eggcellent food items to be cooked and most importantly, eaten!

Cons: My cons detector has not sensed an cons in the immediate vicinity.

Other Thoughts: Came quickly, packed very well. Double boxed. The box woulda had to fall out of the sky for the oven to be damaged.

5 out of 5 eggsWoW

Pros: Excellent browning without burning, unlike the high end toaster ovens.
Lots of height and temp options, along with a built in "keep warm" function.
really does cook frozen chicken and beef !
Pies come out great too.
Looks like the thing is on fire when the Halogen comes on.

Don't have an oven or cooktop in my apartment, and the toaster ovens cook to hot, and too close to walk away from.
This rocks, and along with my 2 part frying pan, I can now cook everything but bread, and am going to try that in here soon.

Buy It!

Cons: This thing is big, takes up lots of counter space.

Kicks out heat around the top, not an issue in the winter, and is possible to scald yourself as you tilt the top over onto the holder.

The combo Temp/Start switch is working intermittently right out of the box. Not a good sign, though every other part of the machine seems quite robust.
If this happens to you, return right away. It is a critical part of the machine.

Other Thoughts: Best of the options out there. Really cooks well.

5 out of 5 eggsRemarkable

Pros: Cooks great. Food comes out juicy. Browns great. Fast. No mess or smoke.

Cons: None at this time...except for my old oven that sets off the smoke alarm and wouldn't allow me to cook...not a problem anymore.

Other Thoughts: Cooks from inside out. Can controll food browing by turning and eying how you like it. My first try was to throw in five good sized seasoned chicken drumsticks. The result was sumptious. I am amazed that there was no smoke, splatter or burnt on mess. Yet, my food was golden brown and I was able to crisp to my liking. Only a bit of drippings in the pyrex dish below and some browning on grill. Easy to clean! Get it!
