T-Fal 8746002 Black Avante 2 Slice ClassicToaster

Pros: Worked really well for the nearly three years that it did function. We bought it on sale at a great price. The bagel option was nice and worked well. Like every toaster I've ever used, using it to toast several things in a row required turning the setting down a little after the first one to get results consistent to the first toasting since the elements are already hot (so toast a waffle at 3 when cold, 2.5 for following batches). Never had to use a setting above 3, would be black by the time it finished.

Cons: Stopped functioning after 2 years 10 months. Dismantling for postmortem required security torx which I luckily have, and considering how non-serviceable and electrically exposed the internals are probably not a bad call. Mechanically the toaster was fine, if you held the handle down it still toasted, but the latch no longer held the lever down and the toast would pop up if not held down. There is an electromagnet that holds that latch shut normally, but either the circuit board controller or the electromagnet were no longer functioning. I didn't bother tracing leads and trying to diagnose further, the chips being soldered in place (it is marked on the board as not having lead so that is positive) I knew even if I figured out all the circuits it isn't like I was going to replace it. Had been hoping it was a simple mechanical issue I could resolve without a ton of effort. Putting the toaster back together is also very tricky. I'd say it is not user serviceable unless you're EE inclined.

Other Thoughts: I liked this toaster. I wish it had lasted even longer, but I guess that's what I paid for (not much).

Pros: When it was working it was okay. .

Cons: 6 months and it was done. Ended up having a problem where the coils would no longer work.

Pros: features,price was ok,

Cons: it just died after only 10 months of hardley ever using it

Other Thoughts: this was my 1st t-fal product and most likely my last my last black and decker toaster was about 10 years old and was just ugly thats why i got this one NEVER AGAIN T-FAL

Pros: If it works, It works well.

Cons: Heating elements stopped working after 30 days.
This toster is used very little.
I'm Very disapointed with T-Fal products. Newegg discontiued this item, Now I know why. I've had bad luck with buying appliances from new in the past. This puchase turned me away from newegg. I will buy locally from best buy or some other local retailer from now on.

Pros: Toasts evenly. Works great with bagels too.

Other Thoughts: Arrived this morning, super fast delivery from Newegg as always. Follow the directions and setup and use is easy. Used it twice already. Once for toast and once for bagels. Both came out perfect. For less than $30 you can't beat this toaster and all of its features.

Other Thoughts: I got this less than a week ago to replace a DeLonghi that died in less then a year. This toast evenly, and fast something the DeLonghi did not. If it holds up there is none better for the money. If you need a toaster this is seems to be a good one

Pros: works as stated doesnt burn the toast and the reheat is great as well as the lever for small pieces of toast such as english muffins

Pros: Functions work great. Better than an "average" toaster in terms of features and performance.

Cons: I personally think it's ugly and the company logo is tacky.

Pros: Toasts quickly, wide slots, angled profile seems to work better, easier access. And the gadget I didn't even realize that lifts up your small pieces by pushing the lever on the right side down is the best thing ever-no more burned fingers! It also recycles quickly, my old one I had to wait for it to cool before I could toast something else so it would stay down and toast.

Cons: None that I see, although I don't understand the bagel function and why anyone would only want one side of their bagel toasted, but if that's what makes you happy, this baby is supposed to do it!

Other Thoughts: I had a cheapie toaster that took forever and was hard to get toast in, and after it popped, I had to wait for it to cool enough to engage the lock to keep it down. This one doesn't seem to have that issue. A really nice toaster for not much money.

Pros: I bought this toaster in white a number of years ago, after trying a couple others that didn't toast very evenly. This is a great toaster. It even heats my frozen waffles well. I just bought another one from Newegg for my son and his wife for Christmas.
