5 out of 5 eggsafter a year of use

Pros: Noiseless, low on electricity consumption.

Cons: Awful smell at first, which goes away after a week.

Other Thoughts: Bought it in November 2013 and it's still running. Run it outdoors for a few hours to get rid of the smell.

1 out of 5 eggsPlanned Obsolescence

Pros: Gave off a good amount of heat while it worked. Quiet.

Cons: Where to begin? First it gave off a terrible odor, then it stopped giving heat. Then the power switch stopped working. Naturally, it died just after the warranty ran out. Soleus Air wouldn't listen to my concerns about the quality and safety of a product that could have caught fire. I'm contacting the CPSC about my experience with this unit. Avoid this defective product at all costs. I'm getting a De'Longhi.

1 out of 5 eggsNot the best deal

Pros: When working, these units put out a great, steady heat at a low cost.

Cons: I've owned 3 of these heaters. Loved the first one so much, I bought two more the next season. Unfortunately these seem to have a lifespan of about a season. The first one failed after about a year just after receiving the next two. The second one caught fire a few months later, luckily as I was watching TV nearby. And the third failed the same day as the one that caught fire. No more of these for me!

Other Thoughts: Several people have reported these heaters catching fire so be extremely careful and don't leave them unattended.

5 out of 5 eggs1 year review

Pros: Feels like a whole room heater, set it to a temp and the whole room simply heats up (stategically located).
It has the temp guage and that lets you set-it and forget-it. I like that I dont have to unplug it ever. it has the off, med, high button on the side.

Cons: Probbly not as effective as a "heater" , its not something you expect to "blow" heat your way. give it 20 minutes and your 200sqr/ft room is cozy.

Other Thoughts: I use this for my sons room - I hang it on the wall. It looks like a fixture - (cant burn yourself by touching it). everyone askes what it is and then say "ohhhhh, cool".

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Heater for small space

Pros: Great heater. I live in the basement and in Saskatchewan where temperatures can get upto -50 and it gets very cold. This heater is perfect for a small room specially in basement and even in low heat it keeps the room pretty warm. The best thing is that it doesn't make a noise.

Cons: I wouldn't recommend this heater for a big open space. It will just not work but for a enclosed space like a small open family room in basement or a bedroom this is perfect.

2 out of 5 eggsabout 6 months of light usage, broken

Pros: Purchased January 2013 - I live in Florida and for our "winters" there is not much usage. At the end of last winter, I stored it in the box until it was time to bring it out again. It heated my 12x18 room wonderfully and effectively through the first part of this winter. This morning I had it on low and noticed a bright red dot on the front of it and stopped cycling on/off.

Cons: About 6 months of light usage for Florida "winters" and now looking for another heater. The grate is warm so it is emitting some heat but not enough to get past more than a foot away. I do not have animals or small children, nothing that could damage the heater and suddenly I have a red dot on the front of the heater that has never been there before and now no heat with still a few more cold nights ahead of me.

Other Thoughts: I was very pleased with how quick this would knock the chill off of a room but upset for as little as I need it and as much as this item costs, I did not get more use out of it.

2 out of 5 eggsDied in 2 years

Pros: Warmed rooms nicely.

Cons: Fried a power cord... melted the plug that connected the heater to the cord. Still worked, but died the next season. Just stopped turning on.

Other Thoughts: It should last longer than two years in Tampa, FL. It was only used minimally.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointing heat output

Pros: Intense heat output at near distance

Cons: Unable to heat medium sized room

Other Thoughts: Near the heater, the output is very intense. So much so that using it in a small space is uncomfortable. But the overall heat output isn't enough even at full power to heat a room large enough to sit comfortably with the heater. My oil filled heaters do a much better job of heating the same space at the same power rating. Might try mounting this one in the bathroom for a little extra heat when showering, but it's not suitable for either of the two rooms if hoped to use it in.
