1 out of 5 eggsGarbage...

Pros: It can cool a room...in other words...do its job

Cons: After 2 months, it sounds like, as another reviewer put it, a blender is in my room. This thing is making so much noise now its unusable. Have to warranty it out sadly.

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate on my previous review

Pros: Isn't one

Cons: Now after 1 month of usage, it's making noice like ice in a blender. It's been of for the better part of a week so I know it isn't iced up. Drip pan is empty, it sounds like the fan motor is shot.

Other Thoughts: Newegg...you need to not sell this company's products. They are complete GARBAGE!

I'd upload a video but I've wasted enough time and money on this.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst purchase ever!

Pros: It's sort of portable, if all the windows are the same size.

Cons: Does not cool very well
Window vent unit is poorly designed, I had to put a board under it to work in our older sash windows. Pro
Noisy
On hot humid days it will have to be emptied many times. The compressor shut off when it's full, which is an understandable safety feature and wouldn't be a big deal if the drain plug wasn't at the back and as far down towards the floor as possible. On a carpeted floor it is actually buried in the nap of the carpet. I have to pick up the unit and place it on something so I can access the drain. It comes with a drain tube but there is no shut off so the water starts to run as soon as the cap is off and before the tube is attatched...foolish. The last 24 hours I've had to do this 4 times. The fan continues to run after the compressor shuts down so if your not watching the light you'll have no idea that its full.
It's heavy when full
Lastly, the unit seems to be controlled by my cable remote changing the settings every time we adjust the volume on th

Other Thoughts: Putting in my old window unit

5 out of 5 eggsSoleus PE6-10R-03 Portable A/C

Pros: Excellent utility portable A/C. "What you see is what You get". Excellent packaging - 3 separate solid boxes house the unit for shipping. relatively light weight - apprx 60 lbs shipping. apprx 50 lbs unit weight. very compact and easily moved. Exactly as described - no surprises. Having used this unit (verus a window mount a/c), I am sold on the portable A/C concept. Portable units are easily removed or "de-installed" during storms or severe weather. Because the unit is totally indoors, there is no deterioration or dirt due to weather elements or insect pests. Easily moved for the winter months and storable in a closet or garage. relatively quiet. I use this unit in my home office during the day, and easily relocate it to the bedroom at night. Will purchase another at the right price point. Highly recommend this unit if it fits your needs. It ships that all connections and tubing. No extras needed, except for duct tape and fiber glass insulation for the outflow tube. (see below).

Cons: Portable a/c units operate less efficiently than window units. I'd compare this 10K BTU to above (perhaps) 8K BTU window unit. (From my perspective, the gain in flexibility for usage of the unit far exceeds the perceived loss of BTU's). You WILL need duct tape to seal the air connections - plan on it! I added fiber glass
insulation to the outflow tube, and improved the cooling
performance. Experimenting with various duct taping options. Insulation will improve the cooling result. However, this is no big deal. Perhaps 30 minutes of effort.

Other Thoughts: Manufacturer website has downloadable product manual and installtion video. Check out these items before purchase. Video & manual are true to life: what you see is what you get. I am very happy with the unit and will likely purchase another for other room uses.
