4 out of 5 eggsGreat A/C for the Price!

Pros: Not the loudest portable A/C I have ever used. Very reliable.

Cons: Could be a bit cooler.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this unit for my office at my work. The office is a decent size in a warehouse that gets extremely humid during the spring and summer months. The A/C unit is vented strait up though the drop ceiling into the warehouse using a flexible aluminum dryer hose since the included pipe was not long enough to reach the ceiling.
I read all the reviews before purchasing and despite some negative ones I went ahead with the purchase mainly because of the excellent price (it was the cheapest 10,000btu portable unit on Newegg at the time). It has been running 24/7 almost nonstop since I bought it almost two years ago. I even run it in winter because I'm an I.T. Pro and I have a lot of computers running in my office. This A/C unit has not faltered once for me, it has not over flowed the dehumidifying tank nor has it shut off because it was full of water. It has simply sat in the corner of my office and ran with no maintenance other than cleaning the filter.
I run the unit pretty hard. In the summer I run it at 70-72 degrees depending on the humidity level outside during the night and weekend and during the week days while I'm in the office I run it anywhere from 70-67 degrees constant, again depending on the humidity outside. My only complaint with the unit is that it doesn't seem to be quite as powerful as a 10,000btu should be. I figured it might be because of the extreme humidity in my office, but at 67 on the highest fan setting it never seem to go below 70 degrees in my office and the compressor will run non-stop all day long.
Over all a very solid unit worth every penny I spent on it. If it should ever break down on me I will not hesitate to buy the exact same model again.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cools pretty well.

Cons: Pretty loud (louder than you'd want in a bedroom / otherwise quiet area). This unit doesn't dissipate the water it absorbs very well. Once it gets reasonably filled up, it seems that it slightly discharges it from the unit (you'll see some water in front of the grill and feel it a little if you're close). When it reached this point and I drained it, I'd get about 10oz of water to come out. It could replenish that amount in a few hours.

Since the drain hose is positioned on almost the very bottom of the unit, the only way to effectively drain this unit is to have it sitting on a stand or to have a very short (but wide/long) pan.

The plastic window piece has gaps because of the size differential of the two pieces. You'll want foam or some other kind of material to close that gap. Additionally, the bendable plastic exhaust tube puts up a fair amount of resistance to being in the wall if it's close to it, making it hard to keep it secured in the window.

4 out of 5 eggsGood portable AC unit

Pros: Blows good, cold air. Not too loud. Compact and mobile. Excellent price when on sale.

Cons: Says the water pan is full when it's not. Remote has more features than unit can support.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Unit Overall

Pros: -Price
-Easy Setup
-Easy Install
-Very cold air that covers my whole room.
-Great features and settings such as auto on/off over 24 hours and dehumidifier.
-Digital screen on remote and remote works great.
-Energy efficient= Save you more on avg compared to others.
-Everything works as advertised.

Cons: -Can be noisy, but nothing to complain about really. I'd take noise over heat.
-Remote has extra advanced features that were made for other models, but does not work, or made for, this model. No big deal though.
-Not much else I can tell now.

Other Thoughts: For some of the ppl giving it bad reviews based on performance, if you read the instructions carefully and set it up right, there should be no problem with the cooling or functionality on the system. Works great for the price. Great unit overall. Highly recommended!

1 out of 5 eggsLeaks, ruined the floor

Pros: Cheaper than the ones that work well

Cons: It leaks internally. If you have wooden floor, expect to replace them every month: this machine will leak in through the most unexpected places. It doesn't matter if you use the continuous system, or just use the internal reservoir, it will leak from the front, or maybe a side, or from any place, and ruin your floors. It's also noisy, inefficient (our window unit cools twice fast and a much larger area), leaks hot air from the cheap tube that runs from the back to the front. No way to return this "scrap", box designed to be non-returnable. One of a a very short list of regrets. The exhaust hose is SO low it seems a joke. It's impossible to use it unless you happen to have a hole in the floor in EVERY place where you expect to use this scrap.

If you don't mind water running through the floor, don't pay extremely cheap electricity for some reason, or expect to half the performance of any other AC, this scrap will suit you.

5 out of 5 eggswow

Pros: it works well / 62 out put keeps whole floor of house at 68

Cons: the exhaust hose could be longer-ok for windows
i have mine hook to the chimney for exhaust.

Other Thoughts: wrap some instilation material around exhaust hose to keep heat from feeding back into room.
i wish it had handle to carry to other floors.

1 out of 5 eggsBroke

Pros: Works just like expected; see my previous review

Cons: The unit broke after 4 times using it.
I connected it to a 4000W generator, to test it as a replacement AC system for my home in case the electricity goes out, but the unit's ac stopped working!

Other Thoughts: No way of returning item, no newegg RMA, no box (the box does not allow you to return it, as it's made in such a way that it can only be used once; once you open it, there's no way to return it, unless you duct tape the whole box!

Seriously dissapointed!

4 out of 5 eggsvery cold

Pros: nice compact size unit ,nice color ,easy to operate .

Cons: unit has 4 fan speeds , low could be a little quietier
sort of noisy for the bed room. More flexable exit hose would be nice or two smaller ones to get it closer to the wall .

4 out of 5 eggsFew dissapointments, but overall a good unit

Pros: - This unit definitely blows some cool air! It worked out of the box with me,
- Most affordable unit @ $300 I've ever bought!
- It's very slim, and is tall, about the same size as a water cooler cabinet with those 7 gallon water jars on top, like you see in offices; is slimmer than most ac units!
- It has wheels underneath
- Comes with an expandable hose, exhaust and window adapter, and a window plate to place in the window, when opening it slightly.
Performs better than most wall ac units I've had.
- Has a timer, and sleep built in.

Cons: - It is quite heavy (heavier than I would have imagined for such a small device)
- It is noisy, not too noisy, but about as noisy as those 1980's wall ac units. Too noisy for me to be used in the bedroom!
- It blows air only from the front small exhaust, to get 10btu, it needs to blow air quite hard through there. This is definitely not a unit you want pointing to yourself, unless you're having a heat stroke!
- This unit's exhaust blades do not swing, even if the remote has the option
- The remote seems to be from a more advanced model,as not only the swing does not work, but the fan speed can only be set from 1 to 3, even if the remote has 4 settings; as well as the 'heat' function does not work!!
- The fan speed is not that much different. At speed 1 it's already blowing hard, and there's very little difference between each step. In any case they account for less than 1dB in noise reduction when reducing fan speed.
- See other thoughts for more cons:

Other Thoughts: Cons continued:
- The unit has a top and bottom air intake. Only the top air intake has a filter. This makes me wonder why even bother putting a filter in, as on the bottom it's most likely to suck in dust (they only equipped the top part with a filter).
- Unit came in a very weak box!
- The unit does not automatically shut down after the temperature is reached, but continues to blow on fan.

Other thoughts:
There's an auto
It works fine as an office cooler, but is slightly too noisy for the bedroom.
Some functions on the remote don't work, and the fan is blowing quite hard. Other than that, I'd rate this unit to be between 9000-10000 btu like manufacturers specs.
I only hope this unit will last!
