2 out of 5 eggsAl_Summer2

Pros: Very cold air at first.

Cons: After a year the unit quit cooling. Replacement or warranty service will cost about $75 shipping to send the unit back to the manufacture if within the warranty period. The lower half of the unit DOES NOT HAVE AIR FILTERS which I think contributed to the unit not lasting long so be prepared for the unit to have a very short life span.

Other Thoughts: This is a follow up to last years review.

4 out of 5 eggsA Great CPU cooler!!

Pros: My CPU was getting a bit hot, and I stuck this in my computer room to try to get it a bit cooler, (and to make it a bit more comfortable in the summer)

I ended up getting a MUCH better CPU cooler, but it did make the room a LOT more comfortable.

Cons: Had to get a Little Giant condensation pump to get rid of excess moisture, but I expected that.
Also, I am spending way too much time in my computer room this summer, now that it is 15 to 20 degrees cooler than the rest of the house.

4 out of 5 eggsCold air

Pros: Compact unit. Self evaporation. Cold cold air! Remote control.

Cons: Only two fan speeds. Other than that none yet.

Other Thoughts: This unit really performs well in a 12 by 20 bedroom, in 100 degree plus temperatures.

4 out of 5 eggsCool Air Conditioner

Pros: Cools individual rooms nicely. Takes all the humidity out of the room. Easy to setup.

Cons: Not very mobile, even though it has wheels. Heavy.

Other Thoughts: Great air conditioner/humidifier for individual rooms, which is what I needed. My upstairs bedroom was always 10 degrees hotter than downstairs where the thermostat is. Now I can get my bedroom to the same comfortable level as downstairs. Also takes a lot of humidity out of the air - I have to dump a bucket of water each morning after I have it running for a while. The only issue I have is using the wheels to move it on carpeting, but that is to be expected imo. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to cool and dehumidify individual rooms.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Fine for an Inexpensive Unit

Pros: Easy hookup on my kitchen cabinet.

Inexpensive.

700 watts won't overload my wiring.

Good for spot cooling in larger areas.

Cool enough that I can wear a shirt.

No more poisonous inside air problem from carpet and wallboard chemicals.

Cons: Not a 2 hose system but they cost more and takeup more room.

Loses some efficiency as the house leaks in outside air to replace the hot air it pushes outside.

Takes up some room on my counter but it can drain to the sink.

Other Thoughts: Use on low fan speed, higher speeds are noisy.

My outside temp is 92F.

Inside is 82F

Air at the output louvre is 62F.

Good enough for approx $200.

1 out of 5 eggswaste of money

Pros: It is not too big.

Cons: The unit and hose heat up so much as if it were overheating and it does not cool at all. You change the settings and that doesn't work either. Junk, don't even bother.

1 out of 5 eggsthink again before buying

Pros: blows cold air, remote function

Cons: Ok, so this AC unit has only one hose which is for exhaust. It's used to suck air FROM your house and cool off the coils of the condenser inside the unit and then BLOW IT OUTSIDE. Sure, this is good, but that air that this AC sucks in from your house and blows out the window MUST be replaced to maintain air pressure. So where does this replacement air come from? I can tell you that it's not just going to magically create itself. The bottom line.. it's coming back from the outside. I'm sure when it's 90+ degrees outside you don't want hot air sucked into your house when you are trying to cool it off. Well that's exactly what this AC does, it's CONSTANTLY cooling off NEW air that creeps in through the cracks of windows/doors in your house. I don't know why in the world this company or any company would make such a thing. It totally defeats the purpose of what it was made for.. It's funny that that the word "efficient" is shown on this product. Total waste of energy. See "other thoughts

Other Thoughts: I wish i had used some common sense before buying this over 2 years ago.

Spend a little more money and get the one with TWO hoses. One is used to take air in from the outside and vent it through the coils and then blow it back outside. This means there is no change in air pressure in your house/building so no air will be sucked in from outside from another location of the house to maintain air pressure.

I left this AC on all night to cool off my room and the compressor never shut off because it was constantly cooling off hot air instead of re-circulating the air that is already cooled off. I don't normally write reviews but i was just so mad when i realized this and hope to help others from my experience..

The only way I can fix my problem is by making a shell to cover the intake and route a hose from the shell to the opposite side of the exhaust on the window... I can't believe I paid for something that just sits there to waste electricity.
