1 out of 5 eggsNoisy, Flimsy

Pros: Made cold air

Cons: Not just noisy but very annoying - the noises from the compressor and fan are at a particularly irritating frequency and the filter cover buzzes constantly. Much worse than our other three window units from 3 manufacturers and outputs. One is a 20 year old whisper quiet Kenmore made by Frigidaire. Things have changed for the worse

Other Thoughts: I returned this A/C the next day. I might have exchanged it to see if I'd just gotten a bad one, but the construction was too flimsy, and the buzzing filter door was very bad engineering and quality control - totally avoidable if anyone at Frigidaire really cared.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for my 190 square ft. bedroom

Pros: Good window unit so far. I like the different fan speeds, blows cold, the remote is nice and is interchangeable with the remote for our Sharp 6,000btu in another bedroom (these units are also very similar beneath their exteriors.) I think it looks nice with the controls and display where they are and the vents work fine for my room (the window\unit is close to a corner so both vents are pointed up and away from the wall.)

I bought this Frigidaire to replace a (very well worn) 5 year old 5,200btu Kenmore, which still works, but has become a fungi riddled, rust bucket. Also buying it now (in Fall) so I won't have to worry about it next Spring and Summer.

Cons: -Loud beep, I normally would not complain about something like this, but it *was really loud! If you are the type to 'set it and forget it', the beep might not be an issue.
-When I was installing the top bar\rail on the unit, I dropped a screw and it fell inside. I went ahead and removed the cover to get the screw, doing this I noticed that the cover is not a very strong metal, just tightening the screws on the sides made the metal bend\twist a bit.

Other Thoughts: (I did not buy this one from Newegg, that's another story. :)
*To quiet the beep on this unit I push a small piece of fuel tube into the beeper inside the control panel, now it is not much louder than the beep on a typical digital wrist watch.
(There is also a youtube video showing how to remove it completely if you have soldering skill & want to risk it.... I did not, I just used the fuel tube as it won't void warranty.)

4 out of 5 eggsGOOD DEAL

Pros: Good price, nice unit. built in ionizer a bonus. Works well. Low noise except on start up and shut down. Power saver is nice. The best part is the 2 adjustable air flow directional.

Cons: sensitivity to being level. But my house is very old so I had to shove a screwdriver under one side to keep the fan from rattling.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat unit

Pros: I bought this to cool a 12x12 bedroom. It does that quite effectively. Powerful fan allows it to move the room air through it very quickly. It also has energy saver mode which will turn off the entire unit (even the fan) when the room reaches the desired temperature until the room warms up again.

Cons: This model lacks the remote sensor feature of it's brother the 8,000 btu model. Also the remote does not have a display of the local room temperature like the 8,000 btu model remote.

Other Thoughts: For the price + free shipping you simply cannot beat the unit. My local hw store has a 5,000 btu for over a hundred more, and it's not even digital!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Remote + digital display on the front of it. Free shipping on a 60+ lb box

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Please do your research when looking up the BTU ratings on the a/c unites. This will cool a larger room, but work twice as hard.
