4 out of 5 eggsThermaltake Dr. Power II

Pros: It is straight forward and easy to use. Great color display that shows voltage on each connector you are testing.

Cons: The only CON I have with this tester is the MOLEX connector is iffy at best. I own 2 that work and I have destroyed 2 of them by trying to either get the molex connector inserted or removed. I have literally pushed the molex port into the housing or pulled it apart.

Other Thoughts: If they could design a little more of the cases plastic to support the molex connector this would be 5 stars easy.

Other than this issue I couldn't be happier with this product.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Love it!

Pros: Does exactly what it should, and I love the colors for the background that changes when you have bad numbers. Very simple to read, very simple to use. If you are building a computer and can afford it, I would recommend it to anyone always check your power supplies they can cause so much problems if they under-volt.

Cons: none.... worth the money

Other Thoughts: Well worth the money.

1 out of 5 eggsIncorrect description

Pros: None.

Cons: The description says "Power Tester". That is not correct. It is a voltage tester. It cannot check whether a power supply can give the rated current. Voltage X Current = Power.

This device does not test the power supply under load, which is the only meaningful test.

3 out of 5 eggsThermaltake Dr. Power II

Pros: Nice unit from what I can tell.

Cons: Power supplies I need to use this on are mini 24 pin. This unit does not handle them. Now I have to buy an adapter. If I'd have known that from the start, might not have bought it.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great.

Pros: All I can say is - read the whole manual. I'm glad I did. Hook things up backwards and you can fry this sucker.

Cons: None, really. It's a field tester, not a full bench test, so I guess you could say the one flaw is that it can't give you amps. But that's not what it's built to do.

Other Thoughts: Everyone should have this in their toolkit if they operate at even a "build a new rig every few years" standard. The ATX format isn't going anywhere. This tester should last you a decade or more.

In my case, it saved me from buying a new power supply when I was having under voltage issues. The problem was narrowed down to the MB. Replaced it, and all is now well.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It seems to be built nice as almost all Thermaltake products I own or owned.

Cons: Its more flash then bang. You have to have the 12v plugged in to check any other power connector. You cannot just check the wire you want. It also does not give you any real numbers you get green screen for good red for something wrong but no details. Its a cheap jumper for the price of a cadillac.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid but Confusing

Pros: The size and quality of this tool is pretty good. The read out is fairly straight forward and will beep red if you have a problem. It performs it duties as expected.

Cons: The instructions are lacking. At first, you know you are supposed to connect the 20 or 24-pin MB connect to the bottom of the unit. Beyond that you know you have to connect each of the other connectors to check their function, but it does not describe how exactly. It took some trial and error for me to figure this out.

Other Thoughts: This tool is useful if you need to determine if your power supply is getting the right voltage to your PC components. This is a perfect tool if you plan on re-sleeving your cables and want to make sure you don't screw up your components.

HOW TO USE:
Connect all of your cables to your power supply, ensure that none of the connections are connected to the components inside your machine.

Connect the MB connector to the bottom of the Dr. Power, then connect the ends that go to each component to the top of the Dr. Power. Press the Power button on the side of the Dr. Power to test. Blue = Good / Red = Bad
