4 out of 5 eggsGreat For IT that support Apple

Pros: I purchased the first set because I needed a good set for performing maintenance and rebuilds on 13" MacBooks and 15" MacBook Pros. The included #1, #0 and #00 cross tips were instrumental in keeping up the pace and (most sets stop at #2 and #1). The various other choices in bits make this a solid set, and the included extender really makes working in tight spots handy.

Cons: You really need to use the extender with the bits, as the lock system for the handle will allow the bits to press back into the handle if you put enough pressure on them to free up stubborn screws. The holder of the extender is not magnetized enough to support keeping the screws on the bit. I have fallen to using a separate small magnet attached to the side to help hold screws while extracting from, or placing into, tight areas.

Other Thoughts: I just purchased my second set of these so that I can keep one in my work pack and the original set at home. This screwdriver set has become a favorite.

1 out of 5 eggsTotal Junk

Pros: There is none

Cons: -Cheap
-Flimsy

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

This Tool kit is made of industry standard components. It is designed to be light weight for easy and convienent usage. So it is easy for certain individuals to confuse this as having a "cheap" and "flimsy" feel. We do have other tool sets that you might like. Please search this site to see if any of them meet your needs.

Thank you for purchasing one of our products, and for leaving us your feedback. We value all positive and negative feedback.

3 out of 5 eggsOk for price

Pros: It is worth the money. I mainly needed it for the torx bits in it, but it is still not bad for $15. The parts feel very plastic-esque, but again, it is worth $15.

Cons: The first one I received was broken, the front cover to the case I got was snapped in half and when I sent it back and received a second one that had a crack in the same spot but not enough to where it was broken. At that point I basically said screw it and I don't feel like trying to do it again.

4 out of 5 eggsAdequate small screwdriver set

Pros: Cheap, small, lots of bits (some hard to find). Due to some of the more exotic bits, it has been more useful to me than most of the small screwdriver kits I have seen. Extension has occasionally been useful as an extension (but see other thoughts).

Cons: Handle is cheap plastic (with metal ring as bit 'chuck').

Case quality makes handle look industrial-grade by comparison. Red plastic form inside the case that holds everything is paper thin and poor quality even compared to the case. These are both about the same quality I typically see on small cheap screwdriver sets. The yellow bars that hold the bits are likely the most redeeming aspect of the case: they are labelled and probably about as sturdy as the handle.

Handle does not hold bits well enough for screws requiring any force (they tend to get pushed into the handle).

Handle tip end is way too fat to fit into many holes (with screws down some way below the outer surface). Extension tip end is also too fat for many such holes.

Other Thoughts: I use the extension even if I do not need it (just shove it all the way in) because the bits will recede into the handle if I apply any force (and I am afraid to tighten the ring enough to hold them with just friction). If I put the bit into the extension, then the extension into the handle, the bit will stay in place and I can apply enough torque to turn fairly stubborn small screws, and the force to hold the bit in the slot/cross/star/hole on the screw head does not push the bit into the handle. Unhappily the extension will recede if not all the way in and I apply much pressure, so it is not much more useful than a bit holder.

Flat, phillips, torx, and square bits have been really nice to have together in a small set. Have never seen 8-point bits in the wild (two of the 'phillips'-looking bits are actually 8-point and will damage screws if used on phillips screws); would have been a little more useful to me if it had three-point bits or keyed torx bits instead.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Great

Pros: Bits seem to be ok...

Cons: Handle is terrible. Case is terrible. Both are made of cheap plastic and would easily break. Reallly cheap plastic. Bits don't insert magnetically but the plastic has to be tightened around them. Metal ring on plastic handle creates a situation where you could easily break it.

Other Thoughts: I bought this set to use the bits with another handle after reading it was cheap, but the bits are not standard insert bit size so they cannot easily be used with another handle.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I purchased for working on small electronics. It's cheap and has just about everything I would need and then some for those rare occasions.

Cons: If you intend to use every day you'll want a better handle as obviously for the price it was made cheaply.

Other Thoughts: I did not intend for these to be used every day. Just for the rare occasions that I am on a job site and need to get a tiny screw out. For that purpose these will work great.

2 out of 5 eggsBits Are Good, Everything Else is Not

Pros: Nice selection of torx bits.

Cons: Plastic is cheap, like a toy from a vending machine.

This goes for everything: the grip handle, the red sheet that the bits sit in, and the flip-case that holds everything.

Other Thoughts: I bought these to disassemble an internal hard drive, which only required one of the torx bits. Was able to do so.

This set will come in handy if I need to build a computer or take one apart.

To use: insert bit or extension rod into the silver cap of the handle. Tighten the silver cap by turning it. This locks the bit (or extension rod) in place.

The orange plastic handle is threaded like a screw so you can tighten the silver cap that fastens onto it. Mine has flakes of plastic between the threads, from manufacturing. The orange plastic appears soft and malleable. If I tighten the silver cap too much or screw it on wrong, I would probably ruin the orange plastic.

5 out of 5 eggsWow, tough!

Pros: I haven't found a small screw unscrewable since these arrived : )

Cons: Very poorly made case. Expected, price considered.

Other Thoughts: This kit was in the back of my Jeep when a semi slammed into it. The case was utterly destroyed, but that isn't important. I found all the pieces after prying the rear door off a few days later. The tools themselves weren't harmed despite having thousands of pounds of steel converge on them from both directions. Still using them now!

5 out of 5 eggsWorth it for the bits alone

Pros: The set of bits included in this item is great. The extension bit is extremely useful for hard to reach spots.

Cons: The plastic case that comes with the product could be much better, I would prefer something more rugged so I wouldn't have to mix it with my portable PC repair toolkit. As mentioned before the chuck is plastic, it would be better if it was made of metal.

Other Thoughts: This is a good value for the price and I recommend it as an addition to your toolkit for electronics repair. My main purpose in purchasing this is for laptop repair and atypical hardware that I may run into.
