Indispensable Tool
- Pros: If you fix your own computers or others, you must have this tool. Perfect for power supplies that power on but are still faulty.
- Cons: True, the insructions are worthless but if you're smart enough to change out a power supply, you can figure it out. Every time I had a bad power supply, it beeped at me; foolproof.
not the easiest to use but works
- Pros: accurate, cool looking, and small/portable with no external wires
- Cons: instructions are useless, readings are confusing until you figure them out on your own
- Other Thoughts: If you can figure things out on your own, then this may be a useful tool for you. Otherwise, the time tests and conditioning will be confusing. The voltage is pretty easy to understand in any case.
- Pros: Easy to read screen, good metal casing. fits in hand nicely
- Cons: Connectors are very tight, hard to remove cabling. Manual is not helpful. screen cover gets scratched.
- Other Thoughts: The tech store, best rated in town, I worked for used 3 of these and they would detect bad PSU when there were no visable blow capacitors on the motherboard. I bought the tester becuase I have I know it works.
