Got the $30 rebate on 2/3

Pros: Works great lots of space. I got 3 of these drives.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I got the rebate accepted for 2 out of the 3 drives I bought. and one of them was because I sent it in with the wrong rebate form. A lot of people are giving this a 1 egg rating because they didn't get their rebate accepted but they might have sent it in with the wrong form. They had 3 different rebates. 1 for each month it ran. These were seperate deals so they were able to deny it if you sent in the form from the wrong month. Personally I think it is sneaky and wrong but I have nothing against the drive its self.

Desktar drive works. Rebate is a lie

Pros: Drive works with no issues. I'm not a tech guru so concern over platters isn't pressing. As long as the drive works as a backup for me I'm happy except if my legitimate mail in rebate is denied. See below.

Cons: The rebate for $30 that was offered when i purchased the drive is a sham. I followed every single step to get the rebate so painstakingly it was as if I was assembling atomic bombs. When I received notification today that my rebate was rejected b/c the UPC from the drive wasn't included and the date I bought the drive was not for the rebate to say I flew into a rage is an understatement. I specifically bought this drive b/c it was inside the rebate window and I used a binder clip to attach the Drive's UPC to the paperwork SPECIFICALLY SO IT WOULD NOT BE LOST!!!!!!!! I know see why many people are cynical about mail in rebates. Why offer them if your going to deny perfectly executed claims.

Other Thoughts: Whoever manages the rebates for this should be class action sued.

The rebate is a scam

Pros: The drive itself is OK.

Cons: The rebate company is a complete scam. After several weeks I received a notice that I bought it at a wrong date so I don't qualify for a rebate.

I bought it BECAUSE the $30 rebate was advertized on Newegg...

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't buy it if I knew that I can't get the rebate.

I'll try to get my $30 back....
